The sound of seagulls cawing and water hitting the sand was familiar to Melanie as she visited the beach before with Mike. This time, the girl was alone with a white long sleeve shirt and black shorts and her phone. The phone hasn't made one sound since she had woken up and that made the girl worry. What if Daniel wasn't actually going to come? What if he was lying to her this whole damn time? Melanie couldn't keep the questions out of her small head and it made wrinkles on her forehead.

daniel: i'm here

daniel: look behind you :)

Melanie had jumped up at the sound of her phone and her heart raced faster than a race car at the text. She hesitated to turn her head towards the city behind her because of the doubt that Daniel wasn't there. Crossing her fingers, Melanie turned her head, wind still pushing her hair in her face, and found herself met with Daniel.

It seemed like he was miles away when it was only a few yards. Daniel had dressed fine for the beach; hands in light blue shorts and elbows against a black button up shirt. The smile on his face couldn't have grown more to Melanie and from far away, she could see that it reached his sky blue eyes. His hair was formed into a small quiff yet it was curly, almost as curly as Melanie's was.

Melanie's smile grew gigantically as she ran up from her seat and headed straight towards the actor. To her it seemed like she would be running in the tan sand for years before she reached him, but she just wanted to be in his arms. The sand flying up behind meant nothing to her as Daniel opened his arms just waiting for Melanie to crash into him for a hug.

What he did not expect was for Melanie to jump into his arms and wrap her brown legs around his waist. He immediately brought his arms around her back and squeezed her body closer to his. Daniel placed his head in the space between her shoulder and neck and sniffed in the scent that she carried. To him, Melanie smelt of flowers and the ocean behind him and the only made him smile mode even if he could.

Melanie could have almost cried at the feeling of him against her. He was warmer than the sun itself to her and she just wanted to be in his arms forever. "You're extremely hotter in real life." she whispered into his shoulder. It wasn't ideally the first thing she wanted to say, but she just had to. The small shaking from his body as he laughed almost made Melanie melt right in his arms. That's another thing; his arms. His fingers had gripped her hips and she could practically imagine them in every way possible.

"Your voice is hotter than it was over the phone, Mel," he moved his head from her shoulder and looked her straight in the face, "God, I'm so happy, I could kiss you."

Melanie was never one to be very confident, but she suddenly felt as if she was on top of the world and could do anything. "Then kiss me."

Daniel watched the girls eyes carefully, seeing as they looked at every part of his face almost mesmerized by him. "Not yet, maybe soon." He couldn't kiss her already, it didn't seem like it was the right time. He wanted to wait for the perfect moment almost like it was a movie; the girl wasn't paying attention yet the guy was watching her and once she turned to look at him, boom kiss. That was Daniel's ultimate plan.

Melanie only smiled and jumped off of the actor, his arms still on the girls waist. "I actually can't believe you're here. This feels fake, is this fake? Am I being punk'd?"

Daniel laughed and Melanie burst into giggles with him. His laugh was contagious as she learned. "This is most definitely not fake. If it is then it's a bloody good prank."  Melanie couldn't stop laughing at how amazing this situation was. She was meeting her best friend for the first time and she felt like the happiest person alive. Her sight of Daniel started getting blurry, yet the girl still laughed as Daniel went into a worried mode. "Oh my God, don't cry Melanie. Please, I can't make a girl cry on the first date."

"I can't help it, I just love you being here. It's incredible." She could only laugh more and practically stuff her head into his chest and wrap her arms around him. Daniel placed his head on her's and rubbed her back like they were old friends.

Although small tears were coming out the girls eye, she stood back from his embrace, missing it too. "Before I forget, you had that plan about going to Pacific Park?" Melanie could only laugh with the man as she dragged him towards the pier and she soon found herself in a conversation with him about pointless things. About the sun, their favorite color, zodiac signs and whatever the two didn't already know about each other. Their was never a dull moment between Daniel and Melanie and they talked as if they have been best friends for years, lovers for years.

"This is why there is always a plan B, Melanie." Daniel stated. The had walked all the way their to find out that the park is closed on Sundays. Daniel wasn't all that disappointed since he had plans, but Melanie wore a frown as she hoped that they would kiss on a ferris wheel.

She turned her head to face the man and smiled slightly. "What is plan B?"

"Driving around Santa Monica listening to old pop music." he answered. Daniel grabbed her small hand and placed it in his, intertwining them, "Come along, then!"

Melanie had been too distracted by the feeling of their hands together to notice that they began walking to his car. The different skin colors seemed the same as she felt home in his hands and like he was her other half. Melanie wasn't one to believe in soulmates, but her liking for Daniel and the feelings she got from him made her warm and actually believe in soulmates. All she could do was keep her eyes on their hands and him as they reached the car.

The only time she looked away was when they got into the car and buckled both seat belts. "First we listen to Justin Bieber."

Daniel laughed as he plugged in the keys and the car turned to life. With his hands on the wheel he turned out the small parking lot and began driving around the city aimlessly. "Whatever you want, baby girl. Just sing along because I love your voice."

The reflection of the sun shined off of Melanie's brown face as he smile practically lit up the whole car. She had her phone plugged into his aux cord and spotify on with it. "Okay, should we listen to 'As Long As You Love Me' or something on his new album?"

Daniel had pretended to think of his options before placing his hand on Melanie's thigh. "As Long As You Love Me."

As Melanie pressed the play button, she couldn't help but smile shyly at him. She had been in this predicament before; driving around with Colton and his hand was on her thigh. She had been touched before, but Colton's touch didn't make her smile. Colton's touch didn't make the girl scream inside her own mind and make her want to kiss him. Daniel's touch did.

She covered her nervousness and began singing to Daniel as if they were in love. "We're under pressure. Seven billion people in the world, tryna fit in."

And the many hours ahead continued like that; Daniel and Melanie driving around singing songs they both knew and having the best time of their life. No, Daniel didn't kiss her because he didn't want to pressure the girl into something she might not want. He wanted to wait until he knew she loved him as much as he loved her.
