As much as you trusted Loki, you couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen. From your balcony, you gaze at the horses galloping across the Bifrost, a sick feeling in your stomach. You love this man, and you care deeply for the rest of your friends heading on this perilous journey. The more you think about it, the more worried you get.
You think of the brave women from your world. Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, Mother Theresa... they were all powerful mortal women. "So why am I up here waiting?", you mutter angrily. You see the four warriors follow Thor into the main chamber of the Bifrost, and to your relief, Loki stays behind for a bit to talk to Heimdall. 'It's not too late to join them', a small voice whispers in your mind. 'I could keep an eye on them.' You stand up suddenly, smiling. Yes, you will try to go them.
You pick up the long white cloak draped over your bed, and fasten it over your shoulders, quickly walking through your bedroom doors and into the hall. You exit the castle without any interruptions, and make your way to the stables. The horse caretaker notices you walk it. "My lady", he bows. You feel extremely awkward. After all these months, you still hadn't gotten used to the Asgardians treating you like royalty.
"Um, please. You don't have to bow", you reassure him. He stands up. You realize time is being wasted, and get to the point. "I need a horse, please." He smiles, and gestures to a lovely blonde horse next to Odin's. "Thanks", you smile. He helps you mount the animal, and you give him a few coins as a thank you. He opens the stable doors. You nudge the horses stomach, urging him to run. He takes off at an alarming speed, but you gradually get used to riding this fast.
You and the horse sprint across the specially marked horse trails outside the Asgardian city, heading towards the Bifrost with Loki on your mind. Before you can reach the edge of the bridge, you spot Heimdall racing towards you. "Lady (Y/N)!", he shouts, recognizing you. "Did Loki tell-" "Yes, my lady. He did." Your stomach sinks. "They left then?", you ask sadly. "Yes, my lady." You stare at the edge of the Bifrost, a new feeling, the sickest of all worries, blossoms in your stomach.
"Come on then", you say, patting the back of the horse. "You look like you could use a rise." He smiles kindly. "You are quite generous my lady."
"Please", you say, snapping the reins. "Call me (Y/N)."

"My Lord", Heimdall booms as you both enter the throne room. Odin stands up from his throne, and you and Heimdall bow respectfully. "My Lord", Heimdall repeats. "I'm afraid your sons have taken their loyal band of warriors to the icy realm of Joetinhiem." Odin remains silent. Your arms prickle with goosebumps. A dangerous energy had filled the air. "And you could not stop them?", Odin inquires softly. "No, my Lord.", Heimdall admits. "And you, mortal girl", Odin exclaims. You flinch. "Yes, my king?", you glance up, meeting his furious gaze. "You are close to both of my sons, yet you could not stop them?" "I did my best, my lord." You lower your eyes. "Thor didn't know I knew where he was going, but Loki promised me to tell Heimdall to fetch you when they left."
"Rise, both of you", Odin demands. You obey. Odin storms down the throne stairs. "My sons have violated an extremely important treaty. They have not only endangered themselves", he looks you dead in the eyes, "But also the ones they love as well. We must fetch them at once!" As if on cue, an eight legged horse runs into the room at its full speed. "Come", Odin commands, mounting the horse. Heimdall leaps on and extends his hand to you. You grab it, and mount the horse as well. Odin lets out a fierce battle cry, and Sleipnir gallops out as fast as his eight legs can take him.
In half the time it took you to reach the edge of the Bifrost, the King, the Gatekeeper, and you are standing inside the Bifrost's chamber. Heimdall quickly inserts his staff into the hole in the middle of the chamber, preparing to transport Odin and Sleipnir to the frigid planet where Loki and Thor awaited. "(Y/N), please exit the chamber as soon as I leave", Odin requests. "Why?" "I have to punish my son for disobeying my direct order", he fumes. You shudder. "Yes sir." He nods, and Heimdall presses his staff deep into the floor, sending the All Father to rescue his sons.
The silence that follows is deafening. You can't shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen. "(Y/N)", Heimdall says. You glance up. "Our king commanded that you stay outside." "Oh yeah", you murmur, and after glancing back at where Odin once stood, you leave. Once outside the chamber, you sigh, and lean against the golden sphere where Heimdall waited.
You couldn't stop thinking of the kiss Loki'd given you. You gently touch the place on your head where his lips had been hours before. He had been so sincere, so loving. 'I've never seen him so emotional before', you realize. You sigh deeply, hating being as helpless as you feel now. How is it fair that Thor had invited Sif to go with them and not you? You were pretty sure you could be a great warrior.
Suddenly, the Bifrost chamber came to life once more. You jump back onto your feet before remembering you weren't supposed to enter. Just as you wonder when you could, Sif and her warriors come out dragging Fandral by his shoulders, a heavily bleeding wound on his stomach. You cover your mouth to prevent a horrified scream, but they are in too much of a hurry to notice you. Anxiously, you almost hurry in, but the anger in Thor and Odin's voices freezes you in your tracks."You cannot even defend your friends! How can you hope to protect the kingdom?", you hear Odin demand. "There won't be a kingdom to protect if you're afraid to act!", Thor retaliates. "The Jotuns must fear me, just as they once feared you!"
"Have you forgotten everything I taught you? A warrior's patient!"
"While you wait and be patient, the Nine Worlds laugh at us! The old ways are done, yet you stand and give speeches while Asgard falls!", Thor sneers back. You flinch. How could he be so cruel to his father? Apparently, Odin felt the same.
"You are a vain, greedy, cruel boy!", Odin yelled at his son. "And you are an old man and a fool!", Thor shouts back. The silence that follows is unbelievably heartbreaking. You can't help but peak in to see what was happening. Odin is standing above Thor where Heimdall usually stood, with Thor and Loki beneath him. Finally, the silence is broken.
"Yes... I was a fool", Odin agreed, "to think you were ready." Loki's expression changes from worry to panic in a heartbeat. "Father-", he attempts to interfere, but is cut off as Odin fiercely yells at him. He turned back to Thor. "Thor Odinson... you have betrayed the express command of your king. Through your arrogance and stupidity, you've opened these peaceful realms and innocent lives to the horror and desolation of war! You are unworthy of these realms,", he tears off a piece of his clothes, "You're unworthy of your title", he tears off another piece. "You are unworthy...", he yells, looking directly  into his eyes, "of the loved ones you have betrayed! I now take from you your power!" Mjönir flies from Thor's hand into Odin's. "In the name of my father and his father before, I, Odin Allfather, cast you out!"
You hadn't noticed that the Bifrost had been activated until the All Father's final words. He uses Thor's own hammer to force him into the portal that would take him anywhere Odin wanted him to be. "No!", you shout, racing towards Thor. Loki notices you sprinting towards the portal and grabs you before you can reach Thor. You don't struggle; Thor is already gone. The Bifrost has closed.
Odin finally notices you're there. "Ignorant girl, I thought I told you to stay put!" You feel Loki's arms wrap
protectively around you. "Father, please!" Odin starts muttering angrily, and leaves the chamber. You hear Sleipnir whinny, and sprint towards the palace, leaving you and Loki alone in the chamber of the Bifrost. He still holds you tightly. "What happened down there?", you ask him, still trying to comprehend what had just happened. An unexpected pause follows. "I-I'm not sure (Y/N)", he admits. His words leave an ominous chill in the air, and you can't help but feel like there was more than meets the eye to what he said.
Then reality hits you like a rampaging bull. "Thor- Odin had- where did he- all my fault-", you stutter, tears forming in your eyes. "No, your are wrong", Loki insisted. "None of this is your fault." You know his words are false. You start sobbing, finally comprehending that one of your closest friends has been banished to an unknown planet. Loki holds you tighter, stroking your head, letting you know everything is going to be okay. You bury your face against his chest, desperately needing his comfort.
