Chapter 4

The sun rose over the Asgardian horizon. It's beams winked through a gap in your curtain, shining on your face, and waking you up. Annoyed, you toss your pillow over your head and roll over. You fall back asleep for what seems like five minutes before a knock sounds at the door. Groaning, you climb out of bed, and sleepily try to fix your hair. "Come in!", you shout, followed by a yawn. Someone walks in. It's Loki.
You're taken by surprise, and don't realize that you have been staring at him until it's too late. He smirks. "Good morning" you say, looking away. Why can't he just leave you alone? "Good morning (y/n)", he says back. A long silence passes. "Can I help you?", you ask. "Well", he starts walking towards you. "I was wondering if you wanted to join me on a morning stroll." "Um, sure", you say, trying not to make it awkward. "Just let me get dressed first." "As you wish", he bows slightly and leaves the room.
You can't help but feel he was mocking you somehow, but change anyway. As you push open the doors to exit the room, you notice Loki leaning against the pillar next to the door. "I'd have never known you took so much time just to get ready in the morning", he smirks at you. "It wouldn't have taken so long if I didn't have to wear a dress", you fire back and close the door behind you.
He chuckles, and extends his hand, which is holding a beautiful blue flower. You hesitantly take it. "Now, how about that walk?" You both walk through the enormous castle, just talking about everything it seemed. "So, your dad doesn't seem to like me too much", you say to Loki as you both walk in the gardens. "He isn't as fond of midguard as he is of other realms", he replies. "Oh." You can't help but feel slightly offended. "What about your brother?" "Who, Thor? That arrogant fool can't see two millimeters past his nose", he sneers.
You look at him shocked. "But-but he's your brother!" Loki sighs. "Yes, he is my brother. And quite frankly, I cannot believe it." You kept walking together, the silence teasing the awkwardness between you. You can't help but feel sort of sad at his response. "Surely you must feel some affection for him?", you ask after a bit. Loki doesn't answer, and you mentally slap yourself for asking that question. "Of course I do, he is my brother after all. But sometimes he can be quite an oaf", he chuckles. You smile, gazing up at him. You keep waking around the castle, dropping the subject and starting a new one. "It looks like we have made a full circle (y/n)", Loki announces as you both stop in front of the magnificent doors to your room. You glance at Loki only to notice that he is staring at you. He takes your hand any guides you to your room. As you enter, you notice the sun;a giant ball of fire sinking gently over the horizon. It's tangerine glow casts a peaceful presence over Asgard, and for a moment, you are blown away by its beauty. You turn around to see Loki right behind you. He takes your hand and kisses it. "Goodnight (y/n)", he mutters, then almost glides out of the room. After what seems like forever, you finally realize you were staring at the space he had been only moments before.
