“What the hell was that?!” I heard Drew ask.

“That was just me,” I said.

“Hilary!” Drew picked me up and began spinning me around.

            “Daddy!” I yelled.

After Drew put me down, he asked, “Did you really have to scream?” I smiled and nodded.

“What was that?!” Wesley asked as he stumbled down the hall in his robe. It looked like he had just come out of the shower. “Hilary!”

“Wes!” I shouted. I ran up to hug him but then stopped. “You should put some clothes on first.”

“Right,” Wesley said, looking down. “I’ll be right back.”

“Where’s Keaton?” As soon as I asked that, I felt soft hands cover my eyes.

“Guess who,” The voice said. Before I could answer, he added, “And no, it’s not Justin Bieber!”

“Damn it Keaton!” I said, turning around. “I was hoping it would be Justin Bieber!” We both laughed and I hugged him.

“Just get married already!” Drew blurted out.

“Excuse me?” I asked, even though I heard what he said.

“What?” Drew said. “I didn’t say anything!” He rubbed the back of his neck.

Thankfully, Wesley walked in to fill the awkward silence. And this time, he was fully clothed. “Hilary!” He picked me up from behind and I screamed.

“Wes!” I giggled. “Put me down!” He obeyed and I turned around and hugged him properly. “I missed you so much!”

“I missed you too!” Wesley said. “I can’t believe we have to leave already. Are you gonna come watch any of the shows?”

            “I don’t know if I can,” I said honestly.”But I’ll try.”

“When are we leaving for the airport?” Wesley asked.

            “Nine I think,” Drew answered.

“That’s in one hour,” Keaton said. “Let’s make it last!” He winked at me and I blushed. I couldn’t stop thinking about how Drew had told us to get married.

“What should we do?” I asked.

“Let’s go to the park,” Wesley suggested. “We could have a picnic.”

“I love picnics!” I said. “That sounds like so much fun! We can make little sandwiches and everything!”

“Okay,” Keaton agreed. “I’ll make the sandwiches.” Keaton walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge.

About fifteen minutes later, we were at Carrie Blake Park. Keaton had set up the picnic blanket and the food. “Yay!” I squealed. “Let’s eat!” I sat down and picked up a sandwich. Keaton sat on my left, Wesley on my right, and Drew was in front of me.

We had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cookies, grapes, baby carrots, and juice boxes. We started eating away immediately.

“Remember to vote for us!” Drew told me.

“Nah,” I joked. “Maybe I’ll vote for Carly Rose.”

“C’mon!” Keaton said. “You’d vote for me!” He gave me an irresistible smolder that would make any girl melt. I just rolled my eyes and tried not to blush.

After about ten minutes, we finished our food and decided to go over to the swings. Keaton and I got on some and Wesley offered to push me. I remember coming here when we were little and Keaton and I would compete to see who would get the highest, but he usually won.

“I bet I can get higher than you,” Keaton said, as if reading my thoughts.

“I bet you can,” I said. “Considering I don’t smoke!”

“I don’t smoke either!” Keaton said, pumping harder. “And this isn’t fair. Wes is pushing you!” I just stuck my tongue out at him. “Drew, come push me!”

Just as I was beating Keaton, a little girl walked up and got on the swing beside me. I didn’t want to hit her, which slowed me down a bit. Keaton and I were now perfectly aligned. “Hey!” The little girl said. “You guys are married!” Why does everyone think Keaton and I should be married?!

“What?” Keaton asked, taking the words right out of my mouth.

“When the swings are the same, that means you’re married,” The girl explained. “Duh.”

“Finally someone who understands,” Drew said.

“I’m tired,” I said. “We only have a half hour left.”

“Let’s go to the slide,” Keaton suggested. We all agreed and started to walk over to the slide.

“Hey it’s Emblem3!” Someone shouted. We all turned to see two teenage guys. Keaton, Wesley, and Drew waved at them. Then, unexpectedly, one of the guys picks up a rock and chucks it at us, missing all of the boys, but nailing me right in the forehead.

One of them swore and the other one said, “You hit the girl!”And both of them booked it. I was really dizzy and had fallen onto the ground. Keaton, Wesley, and Drew all crowded around me.

Wesley carefully moved the hair out of my face and touched my forehead. “Ow!” I groaned.

“I’m sorry,” Wesley apologized. “You have a bump on your head.” I tried to look at him, but my vision was blurred.

            “My head hurts,” I said.

“We kinda figured,” Drew said. Wesley elbowed him.

“We should bring her home,” Keaton said. “Or at least to our house.”

“You’re right,” Wesley said. “Drew, grab the picnic basket. Keaton, help me lift Hilary.” Wesley grabbed my right arm and put his other hand on my back. Keaton did the same on my other side. But as soon as I reached my feet, I collapsed into Wesley’s arms. I felt his huge, reassuring muscle. “I’ll probably have to carry her.” Wesley lifted me up bridal style and I closed my eyes. I could feel his heartbeat.

When I opened my eyes a couple minutes later, we were almost to the car. I could see clearer now.

“Keaton, you sit by her,” Wesley said. He got into the front, and Drew was in the driver’s seat.

Drew started to back out of the parking lot. Keaton grabbed my hand and I leaned my bruised head on his shoulder. He kissed my head, being careful of the bump.
