The New Ones

So Who are YOU?

"So why did you come here?" I ask the human.

"We came here because me and my group were hired to explore this place. So that's what we're doing exploring. I never thought we would find something like you. I wonder what other things live here."

"So what do you humans usually do when you're at your living area?"

"You mean house?"

"Yeah your living area."

"Well we call them houses first of all. I usually lay in my chair, on my phone, texting people. I also sometimes play on my wii."

"What type of strange world do you live in!? What are phones?"

"Um... how should I describe this? They are these small devices that you can play games on or talk to other people."

"Huh."

"My name's Amber. What's yours?"

"Ambark."

"Wow that sounds a lot like my name, Amber. So what do you usually do with your free time?" She asks.

"I go hunting and running etc."

"Well that seems exactly what a wolf would say. Are there more of you?" She asks.

I stare at her. Should I tell her that there are more of us and risk endangering my family? I think it over carefully. These humans could want to hunt us and kill us. How many people are in their pack or "group" as Amber calls them. I think there's about ten at least I smelled ten. I only have two other wolves with me. We would be outnumbered by seven, well more like eight because Saile's probably just going to run off. We're in no condition to fight. Well, I'm not sure how strong these humans are. I need to watch them more. Okay going to put that on my mental list. I probably shouldn't tell her.

"No I'm the only one." I say.

"Oh okay. That's sad. You must  get lonely a lot. I feel sorry for you." Amber said

"Oh I can handle being alone. It isn't that bad." I said feeling guilty for lying.

"So... Um..."

"What?"

"Is someone able to be turned into a werewolf by biting?"

"Kind of. I would have to bite you for like... um... five minutes."

"Ouch that would hurt."

"Yeah it would."

"So could you turn me into a werewolf...?"

"Do you really want to?"

"First tell me about how life is as a werewolf."

"Well you can easily catch things, you can run fast, you can smell a lot better than I think you humans can. I think we're stronger."

"Okay. I think I need sometime to think about becoming a werewolf now. I should go home the sun is going down."

"Okay I should go back home too." I stand up from the log we were sitting on and change into my wolf form. I look back at Amber and run into the forest disappearing into the trees. I run into my living area. I see my Mom and Saile laying down on the ground. I walk over to them and curl up and fall asleep.
