"welcome home," Gerard scoffed as him and Mikey threw their bags down in their new room. Gerard and Mikey had just moved to a town called Belleville shortly following their parent's rough divorce. Gerard plopped onto his mattress, which was currently on the floor. He couldn't believe the events that had happened in his life recently. He tried to think back to before everything went wrong. When his parents were happy. Before the alcohol. He used to look up to his dad. He thought he was a great man. He wonders how such a wonderful father could've turned into the exact opposite. What could have caused him to change the way he did? To drink away all of his emotions. To become a heartless man, who was only okay when he was drunk and screaming at his obviously terrified family. The memories were shaken away from Gerard as he heard his brother Mikey softly voicing his name.  "Yea?" Gerard answered.

"Do you think that moving is really gonna help?" Gerard gave Mikey a questioning look. "Like do you think that mom will be okay and we'll be okay? What if school sucks? What if everyone thinks-" Gerard cut of Mikey's babbling.

"Look Mikes, I honestly have no idea how things are going to turn out. The only thing that matters is that me and you and mom are away from dad. He can't hurt us anymore, okay? We finally have a chance to start over, have a normal life, and maybe even be happy. So, don't worry so much. Even if we don't make a single friend in this shit hole, we still have eachother, right?" Gerard smiled nudging his younger sibling.

"I guess," Mikey sighed finally smiling for the first time in what seemed like months.

"Hey," Gerard said walking over to a box and shifting through it. "How about we go check out that comic store we passed on the way here?" He suggested pulling his wallet out of the box he had been scrambling through. "I'll buy you anything you want," he said, waving his wallet towards mikey. Mikey's face lit up.

"Let's go!" Mikey squealed, practically out the door. Mikey had always been pretty easy to please, but since everything that has gone on, his smile had been harder and harder to find. Mikey had really taken his father's alcoholism much harder than Gerard had, being the younger sibling. Mikey was fifteen, three years younger than Gerard. Despite the small age gap, Mikey and Gerard have always been inseperable. Gerard loved nothing more than to see Mikey happy, which is why he was so eager to buy him all of the comics he could afford.

After driving through town aimlesly trying to locate the comic store that they'd seen earlier, they finally found it . They walked in, baffled by the size. It was huge and had a way bigger selection then the comic store by their old house. Moments later the boys were greeted by a friendly face. "welcome to Belleville comics," Greeted the teenager. He was around Gerard's age.

" Hi," Mikey gulped staring at the older teen with wide eyes.

" I've never seen you two before. You must be new. I'm Ray" He introduced holding his hand out towards the way brothers. They both shook his hand.

" Yea, I'm Gerard, and this is my brother Mikey. We just moved in and decided to come check this place out. It's amazing."

"Oh, thanks. It's a family business. My dad and I are totally into comics," Ray proudly stated.

" You have so many!" Mikey said excitedly. Ray chuckled.

"Yea. We just got a bunch of cool new ones in the back if you guys wanna come check them out." Ray suggested.

"That would be awesome!" Mikey enthused.

      "Cool. Follow me." Ray said.

The two teens followed Ray to the back room of the shop. They stayed for a couple of hours enthusing about comics that they have all read. Ray also showed them some new ones that the brothers had never heard of. It turns out that Ray and the Way brothers had very similar taste in not only comics, but in music too. They got to the topic of music when Gerard and Mikey's mother called Mikey's cell to see where they were. His ringtone was "Antisocial," by Anthrax, a band that they all loved. The boys had a ton of favorite bands in common. They really hit it off, but eventually it was time for the Way brothers to head home. They thanked Ray for showing them some comics, and also made plans to hangout the next day.
