I wouldn't call it stalking. More like viewing without consent. Plus it would be awkward if I arrived at my new school and have nothing in common with anyone.
I stare out the streaky window and watch the trees blur by as I sit in the backseat with my chin rested on my hands. There is a mysterious stench drifting through the air that smells like a mix between cologne and nail polish remover, it makes my head throb. The rain is thundering down outside and I dread the time when I have to leave the warmth of the taxi. Unfortunately for me, that time is around about now.
"Get out kid" The driver yells at me with a rough voice. I go as slowly as I can and after around five minutes, I was standing in the rain with my trunk at the taxi stop. I had turned into a giant ice cube and I was almost certain that my entire luggage was soaking. With a glum look on my face I sigh heavily and make my way towards the blurry street lights in the distance.
It doesn't take long for me to be completely miserable. That musical is way more cheerful that I am right now. Call me Les MiserableER, that's hoe depressed I was. My feet were aching, my stomach was empty, the rain was pouring down harder and to make it all worse, there was a storm brewing. The sad thing is I didn't realize the storm was there until it hit me. Yes, the storm hit me in the form of lightning. It felt like I was lying on the beach with the sun blazing while getting attacked by acid guns. Not a feeling you want to experience. Looking on the Brightside my clothes were now dry. I continued to trudge along the road for what seemed like 4 hours, I had a watch but apparently it wasn't lightning proof. At least I am still alive and able to live my cursed life. And my luck continues as waiting for me at home is my mother. I just can't wait to see my overly protective mum. Great, just great. I don't think my life could get any worse than it is now... Crap I probably jinxed that.
I wasn't quite sure what number it was but possibly, you know possibly, it might have been the balloons on the letter box that gave it away. I go up to the plastic bags of air and read them message printed onto them. All 30 balloons read "Welcome to our new home". I swear that the letter box should have been flying in the air with that much helium attached.
"Welcome home hunter," I announce to myself. "Although it doesn't feel like home".
I walk up to the front but being the clumsy person I am, I trip over a small hole in the ground. UHG. Bring on the new beginning...
