Chapter 1

"Just keep holding on for me."

Seth entered Dean's room, watching as his lovers chest rose and fell, letting him know he was still breathing. With a sigh, he sat down beside him, noticing how pale Dean was slowly becoming.

"You must not have long, huh?" Seth chuckled, stroking the hair out of Dean's face, something he did every day out of habit. "You're already getting pasty. That's always a good sign, not."

He wasn't angry at Dean in any way and felt bad if Dean could hear him. Instead, he was mad at himself for what he had done. He deemed himself as selfish because of the incident that he could have said no to, even if there was a possibility of him getting the belt taken away from him or him getting fired. He wouldn't have cared because he knew Dean would be right there to pick him back up. He always did.

"Why did I have to be so stupid?  Seth thought, slapping himself in the forehead a few times. Stupid, stupid, stupid! This is all your fault! If you hadn't done that, the two of you could be happy right now.

Seth grabbed Dean's hand, stroking his thumb across the top of it, memories of them flowing back into mind.

"Who are you?" Dean questioned, circling the two-toned man with a scowl. "Why are you in here?"

"Dean, be nice," Roman snapped, standing in front of the smaller individual that was supposed to be working with these two. "What's your name?"

"I'm Seth Rollins. I'm supposed to be working with you both," Seth introduced, extending an arm. Roman shook his hand with a grin, nodding his way.

"I'm Roman," the Samoan pointed at himself. "And that's Dean." He pointed at the scruffy haired guy that was trying to intimidate him only moments before.

"Nice to meet you both," Seth responded, flashing a smile towards Dean, who smirked in return.

"I think The Shield will run just fine with the three of us," Dean said, patting Seth on the shoulder before returning to the couch where he was eating a powdered doughnut.

The way the two of them first met warmed Seth's heart each time he thought about it.

His and Dean's friendship started off rough, but it turned into a beautiful relationship. They were hopelessly in love with each other and no one could get in between them. Roman was friends with both of them and was happy to see the both of them happy, even it was with one another. He was their biggest supporter, which meant the world the world to the couple.

It surprised Seth that they were able to make their relationship work for a few reasons.

First, they're polar opposites. Dean is the crazy, in your face type of guy. He doesn't care what others think and does what he feels. He can be quite intimidating if he wants to be, it freaking Seth out at times. Seth, on the other hand, was completely different. On TV and in the ring, he antagonized others and tried to get himself hated by everyone because of his character. Outside of wrestling, he was quite shy and didn't talk to other unless talked to first.

Second, they had a lot of haters. A lot of people on Twitter harassed Seth about his relationship with Dean, threatening to hurt and possibly kill him. He didn't know if he could handle all of it being thrown at him at once, but Dean toughened up and helped Seth through it, just like he always did.

Third, when they first started having feelings towards each other, they were only friends with benefits, or as Dean called it, "fuck buddies." They set up times when they could meet up so they could have the best sex either of them had ever experienced.

Dean's monitor skipped a beat, causing Seth to lose his breath as he stared at the screen, watching as it went back to normal. He took a deep breath, sitting back in the chair with his eyes closed. Tears rushed down his cheeks, his nose becoming clogged.

"Please, don't leave me," Seth begged, taking Dean's hand into his own, squeezing it. "You're going to make it, baby. I just know you will. You're strong, you're going to pull through."

There was no response from Dean.

Seth trembled slightly when he suddenly felt Dean tighten his grip, his nails slightly digging into his boyfriend's palm. Although it hurt, Seth allowed Dean to do it because it meant he was slowly getting better. He was making progress, which was a good thing.

The two-toned man peeked down the ring on his left hand, a smile appearing. He swore to never take it off and he planned on keeping that promise.

Dean's long eyelashes twitched as Dean's eyes moved back and forth, it being because he was lost in a dream. Seth chuckled, remembering how Dean used to mumble in his sleep.

Staring over at the clock on the wall, he saw that it was almost 8pm, which meant he'd have to leave because visiting hours would be up. As much as he didn't want to leave his blonde haired babe, he knew he had to. What cheered him up was the thought of returning the next day to hang out with his lover.

Seth hoped him spending so much time with Dean would help him to recover and wake up sometime soon. He wanted to see Dean's dimple faced smile one more time. He wanted to have one more day with him, just in case it was Dean's time to go.

"Mr. Rollins?"

He looked over to the shadow standing in the doorway of the room, seeing a man enter. It was Dean's doctor.

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry to say this, but you have to go now."

Seth sighed, already knowing that. "I'll be out in a minute, I promise."

The doctor gave a sympathetic smile, exiting into the hall, where he took a left and traveled to check on a different patient of his.

The younger man stood up, leaning over his sleeping beauty to kiss him on his bandaged forehead.

"I love you, Dean."

With that, he let go of Dean's hand and left, hoping Dean would hang on another day.
