"Kirra, please. Don't do this. I'm sorry." Chris begged, but it was no use. She had made up her mind, long before he had done the thing that had given her a reason to break his heart. In one last attempt, Chris kissed her and she stopped. Her green eyes were filled with salty tears, her heart racing. Did she really want to do this? A single tear rolled down her cheek and she wiped it away immediately.

"I'm sorry, Chris. You deserve better than me." His arms tightened behind her, digging his chin into her shoulder. Chris knew this would be the last time that he held her like this. No more romantic hugs. Only awkward stares. Their lips found eachother's. Like magnets. They were drawn to each other, and when they crashed into each other sparks flew. But they knew, that soon they'd have to say goodbye.

Leticia's black boots tapped on the wooden floorboards. Impatiently, she waited for her sister to be ready; For her to walk outside the only bathroom that her Uncle Greg's house had. Her soft brown eyes glared at the door, like it was the reason Alexis was taking so long. A storm began to roll in as Leticia's eyes pierced through the door, a lightning bolt blowing it to smithereens seconds later. Alexis screamed and pulled a towel over her bare skin.

'LETICIA!' She yelled, and the sun suddenly shone brighter than before, shielding Alexis from view. Seconds later, she appeared, fully clothed and glared at her sister. The room darkened with her expression.

'Can you not wait?' She scolded, 'You are as impatient as a bridge troll!' Leticia laughed, the room suddenly bright with her contagious laughter. Forcing herself not to grin, Alexis hid her face from view and stalked out of the bathroom. She continued down the hall to her uncle. Greg sat, cross legged on the wooden floorboards. His hands holding up his head. On the floor next to him was a photograph of a beautiful woman. Her long blonde hair was out and braided slightly. Her smile illuminating her surroundings. Greg soft whimpers were let out as he took a deep breath and ran his fingers through his blonde hair.

Alexis knelt down next to her uncle and pictured up the picture frame and placed it in his hands.

'She's gorgeous. What happened to her?' She gently touched the subject and Greg sighed.

'She is isn't she?' Alexis nodded, smiling and he pointed to her mouth. Her hand went straight to her lips and ran her fingers across them lightly.

'You have the same smile as her. I don't know how. It's not like you were related. You're lucky. She used that grin to get what she wanted. Including me. She was my fiancée. We were to be married a month ago, but she disappeared about three months before she was to say 'I do', just like your pa-,'

He stopped in his tracks and awkwardly coughed, before rushing off to the kitchen. Alexis wondered what he had begun to say. Like her what? Parents? They had died in a house fire! Jeremy Spark had killed them? Or that was what she had been told. Was that just a lie to cover up something that had happened?

Today was the markets, in the annual Jacaranda Festival and later that night the talent quest would take place. Zahn and Leon sneaked around the people standing by the road. For years they had done the same thing on the usually sunny Thursday. With their bags full of shaving cream and dye, the boys ventured out into the crowded streets of Grafton. The first person to be creamed was Kirra Blissway and Bianca Boorman. The two best friends, of course got them back with the huge water guns they had stashed behind their backs. Every Graftonian was prepared with some sort of protection from the pair. But, they weren't the only ones to attack the townspeople with silly string and shaving cream. Jason and Chris Spark jumped out of the bushes to spray the two girls with pink and green silly string before continuing down the street, spraying other people.

Leticia and Alexis walked past all this commotion, laughing at the girls. Bianca and Kirra chuckled,

'Don't worry, they'll get you two, as well.'

The girls doubted it and rolled there eyes. But, as soon as they turned around, the Spark brothers sprayed the twins from behind, covering the expensive outfits that they both wore. Leticia's black dress and leather jacket, covered in green silly string. Alexis' floral dress, and denim jacket, ruined.

'Do you want to get hit?' Leticia threatened, holding up her clenched fist, under Chris's chin, her ring lightly, scraping the stubble on it, and grabbed his green hoody with her other hand. Chris shook his head and glanced at his big brother for help. Jason looked at Alexis and she just grinned, her brown eyes creasing, before shrugging her shoulders. Biting her lip she grinned again, beckoning Jason to come closer and he did, willingly.

Looking up into his blue eyes, she whispered, with a voice as sweet as sugar.

'Are you going to pay for this nice denim jacket?' She batted her thick, black eyelashes at him.

'Or do I have to make you?' A growl escaped her lips as she spoke and her brown eyes turned black.

Jason grinned, before cupping Alexis's tan face in his hands. His blue eyes staring into hers and slowly they changed back to the normal chocolate brown.

'How about I take you on a date instead?'
