Simon

I sat at the island counter in the kitchen, head in hands. I was embarrassed, I was alone.

"You alright mate?" JJ said walking over to the fridge.

"Yeah, I guess..." Even I could hear the lies in my response. JJ turned to look at me, knowing that I obviously wasn't okay.

"What's wrong? You've been like this for a few days." He said in a more calming voice than ever before. I didn't want to tell him. I didn't want to tell anyone. I've been upset since last week when everyone decided to bring their girlfriends over tomorrow night. I'm the only one without a date, and I felt that I looked like an idiot. I mean, Vikk and Kay haven't confirmed if they were dating or not, but at least he had someone.

"Is it because of tomorrow?" He asked, a small smirk on his face. I just kind of looked to the tiled floor to hide my shame. "Man, come on. It's not that bad. So what if you're a fucking loser and don't have anyone? And if you don't want to be here, you don't have to." He now had the biggest smile on his face, trying to cheer me up. I looked up and put on a fake smile, still trying to hide my emotions.

"Wow, thanks Jide" I said in a sarcastic tone. But he was right. Why should I sit here with everyone tomorrow night and make myself look ridiculous when I could be out hitting the town? I know how awful that sounded, ditching my friends on a night that they had been planning, but I couldn't stand to be stuck there like that.

It took me a while to think about it, but I came to a decision to leave the house before anyone arrived. Just the thought of me being with everyone and the people they loved just didn't seem right. But Jide was right. I needed to put myself out there and find someone who was right for me. But that would take me a long time. I can guarantee that I wouldn't just find someone right away.

'Ding'

I grabbed my phone to look at the text I had gotten. It was from the Sidemen's group message that we used to 'communicate'.

Tobi: "Hey guys, bad news. I can't go to the house tomorrow, and my girlfriend has to go out of town, so I'm just gonna stay home, aight?"

Josh: "That's alright mate. Simon isn't going either so..."

I tossed my phone to the side. I covered my eyes with my hands, not believing what Josh had just said. He made me sound like a complete loser. I laid back on my bed, just trying to take the thought out of my mind.

I had made a decision to get away from it all. Not to go try and find a girl, just away. I began packing my bags, slightly nervous of how my parents reacted when I returned. I was gonna go back to my home and visit my family, and I planned on keeping my phone turned off to avoid any texts from the guys. I just needed a break.

That didn't exactly as planned.  I got to the train station, trying to get on for Leeds, but I ended up missing the train and stayed at the station waiting for the next one. It was about noon when I had finally reached my childhood home. Memories flooded my brain as I gaze upon old pictures hung on the wall.

"Mum? Dad?" I called out, but no answer. "Nick?" Still nothing. Great. So much for spending family time. I didn't have much to do since I wanted to avoid the whole 'Youtube life' and everything. I hadn't looked at my phone, nor my computer upstairs. I just stayed downstairs with my dog and watched some television. There wasn't much else,

I woke up on the couch, a small pain in my neck from my position. I heard a small banging, not sure if it were inside the house or next door. I thoroughly checked the house, making sure to look in every room. And it wasn't the dog, because I had seen it downstairs when I woke up.

I walked outside in the rain to check if anything, and sure enough, it was next door. A girl trying to get into the house. I wasn't sure if she was trying to break in or if she lived there. I had never seen her before, so I had no clue. Suddenly, the noise stopped, and the area was quiet, except for a slight whimper. I walked slowly over to the house, noticing that the girl was sitting with her back against the door.

"Hey, you okay?" I tried to be as calm as possible, trying not to startle her. She looked up at me, her knees against her chest, tears running down her face.

"I wish. Today has been an absolute disaster." She said, her voice quivering. She began shivering a bit, so I quickly slipped off my Sidemen hoodie, wrapping it around her. "I'm Sarah" she said lightly, amazed at the offering of my coat.

"Simon." I wasn't sure how to break the silence, but soon found a good question to learn more about this stranger. "So what happened today? Why are you so upset?"

"First my boyfriend cheated on me, again, and now I'm here trying to get into my parents home, but of course, they're not here. They never are." She began crying again, tears slowly rolling down her face. I used my thumb and gently wiped them away. Then she gave me this look, but I couldn't explain it. It was kind of surprised, but also, thankful. She then began shivering uncontrollably.

"My parents house is right next door, I'm home alone, if you want to come in to keep from the cold." It just suddenly came out of my mouth. I didn't really realize what I had just said, until it was too late.

"No, I couldn't do that, I just need to wait here for my parents to return. But yet again, words just slipped out.

"No really. I don't want you to be out here alone in this weather." I stood up, regretting that as soon as it came out of my mouth. She looked at me confused. "You know, just being polite." I hesitated for a second but stuck out my hand to help her up. She took my hand an we ran down the sidewalk, trying to keep from getting too wet. We got into the house and I walked her over the couch.

We had sat there for a while in silence before she spoke up. I wasn't prepared for it either.

"How could a guy like you, who's that cute, be so kind?" The question hit me like a train, and I couldn't help but blush. I could feel my cheeks heating up, when once again, I said something that I was trying to keep in my brain.

"And how could any guy let go of a girl like you?" She just sat there, staring at me. It was weird, because neither of us moved or spoke. We just sat there, looking into each other's eyes.

"You know what, I probably should have just texted my friend Tobi. He was planning on taking his girlfriend somewhere tonight but cancelled. I should probably go hang ou-" She was cut off by the sound of a car pulling into a driveway nearby. She walked over to the window and smiled.

"My family is home!" She walked to the door. I went to walk her out, but she stopped. "Oh my god, your jacket! Here he-"

"No keep it" I said, cutting her off. A large smile grew on her face, and then she stepped closer to me. I was confused at to what was going on, so I just waited. She then wrapped her arms around me, but I didn't hesitate, lightly placing my hands on her lower back. It wasn't awkward though and that was weird for me, because it felt normal.

She walked out of the house, and as I closed the door, I realized what she had previously said. I think she was talking about Tobi from the Sidemen.

Okay so this one is a bit longer. I don't know how many chapters I intend on doing, but for right now there are several to come.
