Unexpected

Chapter 4

Sarah

I was just sitting on my couch when I had a gotten a random call from Tobi, but I simply texted back to call again later. I was in the middle of an Orange Is The New Black marathon! I wasn't going to pause for anyone. I had finished about 6 episodes, staying up until about 3 in the morning, and I had completely forgotten to call Tobi back. The thought hit me, but instantly decided that he might not be awake, and if he were he would probably be working on some new videos.

Tobi was internet famous, making Fifa, GTA, ect. videos for his YouTube channel: Tobjzl. I laid in my bed, trying to fall asleep, but couldn't because I had slept before my marathon. I turned on my side, arm out, reaching for my phone on the bedside table. I started rolling but couldn't catch myself. I was face down on the floor, but hoping I didn't wake my parents up. That would have been embarrassing if anyone had seen.

"God, why am I such a klutz?!" I whisper yelled. I heard a door creak open down the hall and quickly jumped up into by bed, hiding under the covers, hoping that whoever came in thought I was sleeping. But no. No one. Then a slam at the front door. I sighed, diminishing the thought of my parents fighting, although it wouldn't be unusual. I grabbed my phone and looked for a good video to watch on YouTube. I watched a video where Tobi had me as a guest. He begged me to make a YouTube channel, but I denied it. I didn't have enough free time to make videos like he did. And I was no where near as funny. I kind of regretted turning down the offer, kind of wishing I had a life like his.

I mean, everything about Tobi was perfect. He had an amazing flat, he had millions of people who loved him, he had the best group of friends. I dreamed about having that. I think everyone does.

I woke up the next morning, phone on my face. I picked it up to check if I had any notifications. A text from Tobi.

Tobi: "Call me ASAP"

I unlocked the phone and rung him, expecting to stand there waiting for a few seconds, but he answered almost immediately.

Tobi: "Finally you called. What happened?"

Sarah: "Nothing, just forgot to call you, that's all."

Tobi: "No, I'm talking about you and your boyfriend."

Sarah: "I broke up with Aaron. He cheated again. But this time I had enough strength to walk out the door."

Tobi: "You okay?"

I felt my eyes water a bit, but sucked it up.

Sarah: "Yeah I'm fine, really I am."

Tobi: "Oh, also, I wanted to invite you to come with me to my friends house, just to hang out."

I heard the front door open, and close heavily.

Sarah: "Hold on Tobi, I'll call you back in a sec."

Tobi: "Wai-"

I cut him off slowly walking to my door, and lightly opening my door seeing my drunk father standing at my mom's bedroom door. I tried closing my door, hoping he wouldn't notice me, but this world hates me. The door creaked and his eyes shot right at me. I closed the door and locked it in a panic, but soon he was there hitting the door trying to open it. I could hear him yelling, but couldn't make out the words. I sat at the edge of my bed, tears streaming down my face. Waiting for him to give up and go away.

Silence.

There wasn't a sound in the house. Now doors opening or closing, no talking or yelling, just silence. I grabbed my phone and dialed Tobi's number in as quick as possible, as if I were in a contest.

Tobi: "Hey, you okay?"

Sarah: "No."

Tobi: "Why, what hap-"

Sarah: "I'll tell you later. I would love to go with you to your friends' house. But, can I head over to your place for a while? I don't want to be here."

Tobi: "Sure, of course. You can come over whenever."

Sarah: "Thanks Tobi. I'll be there in a few."

I ran to my closet, picking out something a bit nicer than my usual apparel. I rapidly changed, packed my backpack with extra clothes, no intention on returning to this hell-hole of a home. I grabbed my phone, charging cords, wallet, money, and my car keys. I slipped on my jacket and slipped my head out the door. Nothing. I tip toed all the way to the front door and hesitated before opening it, slightly scared of the possibility of my father being outside. I opened the door and darted towards my car. I unlocked it and sat inside. I immediately locked the doors and put the key in the ignition. I pulled out of the driveway, saying goodbye to my childhood, and drove away with no regrets.

I had a just got a random call from Tobi saying that he was bringing a friend over to the house tonight. I slightly tensed up at the thought of meeting the girl again coming true. I didn't want it to happen in front of the boys, it would be too awkward. I ran through the hallways of the house, informing all the guys of tonight's plans and how we NEEDED to clean up.

Hey guys, just wanted to say that now that school was starting back up, I wasn't going to have as much time to write or post. So if there are any chapters out, they are probably going to be shorter, but occasional long chapters that may take a bit longer. Sorry guys!
