"Catherine, what's all the fuss?"
"We're going to Frank town."
"Oh heavens, Catherine do you know how much of a dangerous trip that is?"
"You are so sexist!"
"What are you even talking about?"
"You think that just because I'm a girl, that this trip is going to be impossible and I'm going to get tired like some wuss."
"I never said that!"
"Well, it sure sounded like it."
"Look, Catherine, I just don't think-k, well I'm trying to say is that I don't want you getting killed."
"Well, I'm sorry that I reacted; I'm just a little concerned about Anne's well-being."
"I know."
"Catherine."
"Yes?"
"I have to tell you something."
He stood there nervously.
"Well, Catherine said sarcastically, I'm not getting any younger."
"I lo-...
"So, not to interrupt anything but I think we should head into town and puck up a few things before we start traveling."
"Um, ok."
We headed into town, and Jesse and I talked about our fears, hopes, goals, dreams that we all wanted to accomplish. But I noticed that Jesse looked at me in a weird way,but I shrugged it off. Jesse talked about his dreams of becoming a philosopher, while I had talked about becoming a middle class citizen and traveling Europe reading and writing works of literature in different languages for all of the world to enjoy. Jesse talked oh how he missed his father who was fighting in a war, forced by king's orders, and how unjust and unfair the monarchy was. I agreed remembering the cruel fate my father suffered. The 100 Years War was just escalating but me and Jesse's adventures were just getting started. We had finally entered town and browsed the stands to see what we needed. I was able to get some herbs and homemade medicines, and Jesse was able to get some meats and soups. I even bought a journal and a gold pin with Jesus on the Cross. We headed on our way to Frank town.
"Well?"
"Well, what?"
"Aren't you nervous about this whole journey?"
" I guess. I don't know what to feel and what not to feel anymore, my emotions are kind of like a mystery. I'm sad one moment, frustrated the next, my emotions are like a battlefield."
"I know how you feel."
"How would you know?"
"After my dad was called to fight in the war, I was a wreck, and so was my mom."
"I'm sorry Jess, I guess I forgot."
"It's ok, I know how this whole Anne mess is getting to you."
"Yeah."
We walked the next couple of miles in silence.
