Leila and I agreed to discuss plans and arrangements in the morning. As for now, we decided to go to sleep to be well rested. I went back to my room, Jess still sound asleep. I snuggled in the bed with him, and pulled out an extra cover. Jess turned over and gave me a peck on the lips. He then once again fell asleep. I feeling tired by my troubling conversation with Leila fell asleep as well.
I awoke to the sound of the rooster crowing. The bright light hit my face as I got out of bed sluggishly as my feet scooted across the floor.
"Hey", Jess said to me.
"Hey", I said drowsily.
"Well, someone's sleepy, aren't they?"
"Don't get smart, Jess", I said with a scowl.
"Sorry, it's easy to kid around with you sometimes."
"Yeah."
"So, what happened last night?"
"What do you mean?"
"You know what I meant. What happened?"
"I met up with Leila, and we just talked."
"Talked about what?"
"I really couldn't tell you."
"Why not?"
"It's confidential."
Jess looked at me with a stern, dumbfounded look.
"Oh, so you can tell he things, but not me. The boy you've known your whole life!"
"There's a difference between childhood secrets and threatening secrets! It's just something I don't think your ready yet, and something that shouldn't be discussed so openly."
"Catherine, I thought we could trust each other!"
"We can Jess!"
"Then why aren't you telling me?!"
"I can just can't endanger you like that, it's way too risky."
"Oh, so you confide in a girl you just met, but not me. Well that makes perfect sense. Let me know when I can trust you again."
He walked out of the room and slammed door behind him. I, still amazed at what just took place stood there and cried.
