~ Maya POV ~
-“Two completely different worlds, two souls born to meet. Bonds that go beyond death and penetrate in a parallel universe where miracles exist.”
-Hahaha! You’re dreamy today, Adda! But you do know that love comes by chance, right? The idea of soul mates is just some library mice’s philosophy.
Adda is the type of person that searches for love in every corner of the world, in hopes of finding it. I always ask myself how did she become my best friend despite the fact that she didn’t even have the slightest clue what it meant to be rational.
-Admit it, the idea sounds great! They say those that truly love each other are the ones who haven’t met yet.
-Yeah…and happiness doesn’t need a stomach. I answer more to myself.
-I really believe in this. What’s with you today? You’re not yourself.
I didn’t get to answer her question because a strong voice started echoing on the college hallways calling our names.
-Miss Maya Smith and Miss Adda Anderson…in my office immediately!
We stopped in our tracks and turned around towards the Dean. We looked puzzled at each other: What did you do this time?
We got to the dean’s office and after a huge speech about the importance of socializing as a student and integration into society, he finally told us the reason why he called us.
-You were accepted in the exchange student program. Get your necessary documents ready and pack your bags. Oh, and one more thing…although you both are students with great marks, still try not getting into any more trouble.
Adda was so excited that she totally forgot about manners. She started jumping up and down and screaming of happiness just like a little kid. We thanked the Dean and headed for class.
~ Daehyun POV ~
I was way too deep in my thoughts to figure out where we were headed. I was trying to remember all the words she had said to me, in hopes of one day finding her through them. I knew it was absurd, but it was the only thing I could do. I didn’t even know her name. I got interrupted by Jongup’s voice, telling me we arrived at our destination. I got out of the van and when I saw where we were I realized that the guys planned a soccer match, if you can actually call it a match. Yongguk hyung tapped my shoulder and told me:
-Do you feel like talking about it? We have enough time until the rest arrive.
-Yes. I answered knowing he will understand me.
-Dae…it’s already a month since you’ve been dreaming about her and…
-And every time, she disappears before I can find out her name.
-I guess there’s a reason that happens. Nothing’s accidental.
-But…hyung, do you think I might be going crazy? I asked him with some doubt in my soul.
-Don’t worry, Daehyun! We’ll visit you daily…at the loony bin! Replied Youngjae while laughing.
-Yaah! Didn’t you get out? Yongguk scolded him.
-What’s wrong Dae? Are you frustrated? You want me to find you a babe? Teased Himchan trying not to laugh. I threw him a stare from which he could read my mind: I’d kill you if I had a weapon! He started to run towards the soccer field yelling:
-Or maybe two?
I started chasing after him hoping I’ll catch him and take my revenge. I didn’t get him, Jongup and Zelo blocked my way right before I almost caught him.
-What? We had to start the game somehow, right?
I gave up chasing after him when I realized I was laughing. I guess the rascal managed to make me smile in the end…
