I woke extra earlier, I had a special plan for Kiara since it was her birthday. Every year I try to do something more extravagant and more special than the previous year. Last year I got Kiara her favorite kind of dog, so now we have a new pet, well pets. I got her a Yorkshire Terrier which she named him Button, which in her words seemed so fitting since he's cute as a button, so Button it was. So Kiara decided Button needed a friend, so for my birthday she bought me a Rottweiler.

Now surprisingly a small dog like a Yorkie and a large dog like Rottweiler seems like it would be a bad idea but it worked out really well. I named my dog Chance, simply for the fact I just liked it.

Now the kids love the dogs. Malachi and Kali of course love Button while Trent tends to like playing with Chance. Chance loves Trent, he actually spends the most time with Trent, especially for the days when I have to work. I told Trent he's got to be in charge of Chance when I'm not around, so he walks him, puts food in bowl, and even teaches him tricks.

Anyway so I proceeded to get up and take a shower without waking Kiara. Of course Button, who is like Kiara's little body guard snaps awake and starts barking waking up Kiara. I sighed and eyed Button.

"Babe where you going?" she slightly sat up.

"Umm, gotta run to get some stuff done."

"You taking the kids, Trent and Kali?"

"I wasn't planning on it."

"Well can you take Kali at least, I at least want an extra hour of rest before she gets up."

"Sure." I smiled and walked over and gave her a kiss.

Honestly it wasn't going to be easy to plan a birthday surprise and have Kali with me but I had no other choice.

Just as I started to walk out the room Kiara said out to me. "No surprises Khy!"

I smirked and just proceeded out the room, her and I both knew that wasn't going to happen.

I went into Kali's bedroom and seen my little princess fast asleep, and I honestly hated that I was going to have to wake her up. I picked her up and called her name "Kali."

She began to blink her little eyes open and looked at me "Yes Daddy?"

"You gotta come with Daddy so, we gotta get you ready okay?"

She nodded and rubbed her eyes, then I gently places her down. "I'll be back to check on you okay?"

"Okay."

I left out the room and went into Trent's bedroom. "Trent"

I noticed him hurry under the covers and attempted to pretend to be sleep.

"I know you're up boy. What you doing up so early?" I asked.

He peaked his head from other the covers. "Nothing, just chillin'."

Now that Trent hit puberty and in High School, he try to keep everything so secretive.

"Really?" I raised an eyebrow.

Then suddenly I heard soft muffled moans coming from his bed. I already knew what he was doing, but I just simply watched him scramble to shut off the sound from his phone.

"Khy I can-"

I cut him off before he could continue "It's fine, almost every guy has done it. Just clean up when your finished and two lock your door next time."
