1 WEEK BEFORE THE ATTACK

A few days ago, the news released a statement saying that one of the satellites in space detected a large spaceship. It was extraterrestrial. Now that's the topic of every conversation in town. Where did it come from? Is it an alien spaceship? Is Earth going to be invaded?

I won't say I'm not curious, but I've only mentioned it every once in a while, not in every conversation I'm a part of. The most annoying part of another, possible, species in the universe. Is that my friend, Caitlyn, is being consumed by them. The only conversations we have now are about the "aliens". Even when I try to change the subject she always finds a way to involve the "aliens" in it.

Why are people making such a big deal about them? They are like three or four light-years away from us. That's like twenty-eight trillion km away from Earth. I would be dead by the time the "aliens" reached Earth. Maybe even the human race will be extinct by then, who knows.

The talk about "aliens" will hopefully die down in a couple of weeks because a new news report will come up with something else to worry about. Like 'Scientists have discovered that oxygen is killing us.' Everybody is worrying about dying that they're not living. Stop worrying about things that might potentially happen and what might potentially kill us, just live your life. Go on a holiday to Japan or America or whatever country you want to visit.

I don't have a problem with death. I don't care if there is or isn't an afterlife. I believe that when we die we fade into nothing, the oblivion. I feel like if I went to an afterlife (probably hell *winky face*) that I would get bored, constantly living even though your dead. I would definitely prefer to become nothing. My mum and I talk about afterlife and religion constantly, it's an interesting subject and I'm one to express my feelings and opinions easily.

My mum and I are very much alike, we have the same values and beliefs. Well, I guess the whole family is the same, although my sister and dad are more dramatic than mum and I. My family aren't the type of people to go to church on a Sunday, we are an agnostic family, we will believe in a god or gods when there is enough evidence. It's like in a murder case; you don't convict someone unless there is valid evidence. Out of my sister and I, I'm the practical one. The mature one. Well, I am nearly seven years older than her.

Even though there is an age gap between my sister, Amanda (Mandy for short), and I. We really are close.
