Perspective is key to feel empathy, if you were able to see through someone else's eyes, how different would you act? Would you understand them better?
As a child you live life like a blur, you don't understand everything and you don't need to. All you want to do is have fun, enjoy your experiences and play until the sun sets.
But as you get older, things change. You have worries, responsibilities, life isn't as carefree as it used to be. As the world slowly spins your body is growing taller, your mind is growing wiser... Or so you think. You think you are bigger, better than most. You think you are wiser, smarter than others. Your perspective has changed from childhood, that's true, but not in the way you think. You have become crueler in your manner, fun can be spiteful, selfish. You don't care, but you are not carefree. Your responsibilities can scare you, just as you can scare others. The people who used to be your friends have drifted down different paths, as your childhoods drift away. The past you long for has disappeared, your future is yet to come. Your time is slowly ticking , you lose sight of the sun. As day turns to night, your rose tinted glasses become weary, the dark is fine but the light is scary. You miss the days when your life had wonder, but now the ground shakes you hear the roaring thunder; the Lightning strikes you, you begin to weep. The rain pours into the oceans deep. You have realized that the nostalgia you feel is dragging you behind. Your rose tinted glasses are broken, just as you are inside.
