Down and down I fell. It seem like forever, that I was rushing through the dim tunnel watching the ground draw closer. Eventually I landed with a bump.
I stood up, dusting myself down and glanced around the room. Ok, one could hardly call it a room, but a large space with apparently no exit other than where I had just come from. Don't panic Ebony, what would a Ravenclaw do?
I turned 360 degrees and found three circular doors in various sizes. When I went over to them, and pulled on the handles, they were locked.
"Oh for Merlin's sake, where is my wand?" I yanked the handle a bit not to let out my frustration. There was no sign of the white rabbit either, so where it went to I have absolutely no clue.
In the middle of the room was a glass table and on top was a gold tinted key. Pleased with myself, I picked it up and went to the first door to slot it in the keyhole. Alas, the keyhole was four times the size of the small key! The next door was also too large, as was the third.
A load of use that was, I thought to myself. Suddenly I caught sight of a little curtain hidden away. I jumped up and pulled it back revealing a fourth very small door. The key fitted perfectly into the lock. I twisted, and pulled open the door. It was no larger than my face, and so I had to squish my eyes into the gap.
Beyond the door was the prettiest little garden you ever did see. It was not like the gardens at Hogwarts, which were full of thousands of magical plants, but it seemed nice enough.
I closed the door and sighed. How I longed to get beyond the door, but although I was small for my age, even I couldn't fit through the gap.
A new item had appeared on the glass table. A blue bottle with a string tied around the neck. A paper tag read "Drink Me".
I picked it up and read all around the sides. There was no more writing. Had I not grown up in the magical world I probably would have downed the contents there and then, but six years at Hogwarts had taught me that if you didn't know what it was, you don't touch. I hurriedly placed the bottle back.
I sat for some minutes wondering what to do. It was the gloomiest moment of my life - and I survived the Battle of Hogwarts. I was faced with a situation from which there was no exit. I wasn't even dreaming. I pinched myself to check that.
Finally I decided, that if I was going to die in here, I might as well do it properly. So I picked the bottle back up and pulled out the cork. The immediate scent of fresh berries, made me hope it wasn't poison. I glugged the liquid. It taste quite nice.
I looked around me and suddenly it occurred to me that the doors appeared even larger than before. I was now a height of no more than a few inches and certainly able to fit through the little door. I ran over to it only to discover that the key was still on the glass table top.
"Oh this is getting ridiculous!" I cried. Then there was a cake at my feet. Another tag read "Eat Me".
"Well the drink didn't kill me so I don't suppose you will" I said to it, picking it up. I was getting quite bored of my own company now. I took a large bite of the cake and watched my surroundings shrink as I grew.
Now at a height, a little over my own, I picked up the key and put it in my pocket for safe keeping.
"Now I just need another drink" I said. Unfortunately, I had already consumed the entire bottle. Fortunately, a second one had appeared. "This really is just a bit predictive now"
I drank the second bottle and shrank again. Rolling my eyes at the empty room, I opened the door and stepped through.
