3. WHAT KIND OF MUSIC ARE YOU FOND OF?

Do you love pop? Country? Alternative? Rock?

I sticked to country because of Taylor before. But you need to think and listen outside the box. (But pop na sya so pop na din me HAHAHAHAHA)

You have to listen. I listened to My Chemical Romance, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Lany, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry. And read and feel their lyrics. You may listen to any singers you know. We need to be more of a listener. Dun ka matututo how they made their songs. How they gather their music and lyrics.

Like how taylor shifted from country to pop to explore music.

Share ko lang, I became a choir member in a University before. Iba bes. Puro nota. Puro classical music. And other genres as well pero iba talaga siya. A deep music. A masterpiece. More emotions.

Each song need a lot of energy. You need to feel it first before you sing and read notes properly. You sing with a team. You learn each day. You use proper techniques and exercises to sing well.

I learned so much. It's a different world din sa music na naririnig natin sa radyo at kung ano uso ngayon.

I learned how to appreciate different kinds of music. And find what suits your personality. Finding what you love, what you wanted to hear. What you wanted to feel.

In some of the songs I wrote, I wanted it to be up beat, some of it more acoustic, and yung iba gusto ko madrama.

May tragic lyrics ma gusto ko upbeat to lift up myself.

May masaya na lyrics na parang gusto ko nagrereminisce ang dating kaya gusto ko malungkot tono, it really is up to you.

One of it is like the song Forever and Always by Taylor Swift with her catchy chorus and tragic but up beat music:

"And It rains in your bedroom, everything is wrong,
It rains when your here and it rains when you're gone,
Cause I was there when he said, 'Forever and Always.'"

It is sad. But the music is up beat. It's like forgetting it hurts. I don't know how you feel about the song. But that song is indeed beautiful.

It also helps when you love reading. It exercises you mind. Your emotions. Makes your imagination explore. That also helps in writing songs. Getting an idea in one word.

I also had one time I just read a word and it made me think of writing a song about it. Or like adding that word into your lyrics. Kahit dahon pa yan, kahit upuan lang yan. Every thing makes a good lyrics. Every thing makes a good music.

What you feel about the song will create your music. It's okay to stick first to your music that you love, and try to listen to different music as well. It will help you find what you want in a song. What you like in the tune of your lyrics.

You don't have to force yourself to have a music agad sa song mo.
Actually, some lyrics you wrote can be a lyrics lang. This is just a quick tip:

Write and write. May times na feeling mo di mo bet magkatono o tugtog basta malabas mo lang feeling mo sa sinulat mo.

And after like 20 and up lyrics na nasulat mo, maiisip mo, "Ay lagay ko kaya yung signature line ko dito"

And dun mo marerealize na mmas bagay pala yun don.

also have that instance na yung 3 songs na sinulat ko, hirap na hirap ako nung 13 years old ako kaso after 5 years nabasa ko siya at nandiri ako. Charot HAHAHA. E since almost isa lang naman yung reason at topic non, ginawa ko siyang isa. TAPOSMASNAGUSTUHANKOSIYA!!!!!!

I can aso relate to what Taylor said before, yung line na "Darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream," nakuha niya daw yun sa old song niya na unreleased.

Sorry if puro Taylor ako. Super fan kasi ako since 13 kaya andami ko chika sa songwritings niya hahahahaha.

I also have this tip.

Try learning an instrument. Kahit ano: Guitar, Ukulele, Piano, Beatbox, Flute.

You don't have to force yourself okay? Pero this is just a tip kasi para sakin iba pa din pag masterpiece mo. Yung sayo mismo galing pati ang musika.

Kasi iba ang pagpapahalaga mo pag ikaw mismo ang nagpakahirap. Diba nga pag mahal mo sobra ka mag invest at mag effort? Ganun din sa songwriting mga par. This is an art like an abstract painting. This is not just any project sa school na napilitan ka kasi deadline na sabi ni teacher.

I started to learn the guitar basic chords when I was 14 years old kasi yung best friend ko lagi nagdadala ng guitar. Pero never ko siya pinagtuunan talaga kasi tamad ako. Nung nagstop ako going to college when I was 18, I don't have anything else to do before I looked for a job to help my family.

I tried learning how to play guitar na talaga. I just know up up down down since di ko talaga sineryso ang pag gigitara dati. But since naipon na yung mga kanta ko, I tried so hard to set a chord sa iang kanta ko kahit D A G A lang. Uso yan par. daga daga chord hahahaha.

Moving forward, mas nagclick ako sa ukulele HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

But I wrote this "Paano gumawa ng kanta?" to inspire you. I actually tried so hard to improve myself. I actually share my songs to my best friends, lalo nung na heartbroken ako nung 19 ako KALOKA isang album na ata nagawa ko HAHAHAHAHAHA. I wanted people who has talent in songwriting to treasure it, to pursue it. Ang hirap lang sa part ko I don't have funds to support myself since I need to help my family when I was 18.

I was offered a songwriting contract before in Nashville when I was 18. That was actually a dream come true.. However, at that time, I don't have enough money to support myself to college. So I cannot pursue it kasi I need to earn agad kaysa wala kami makain sa bahay lol.

Anyways, I was also accepted by a talent scout in a specific agency or if agency ba tawag don lol. They are the ones from U.S na nagpupunta country to country for auditions. I passed the acting and singing auditions. They are the ones who give opportunities to talented artists like some of the casts of Suite life of Zack and Cody, Transformers, etc.

I was offered a contract for a Los Angeles camp for artists, where in one week, they will have a camp and a training and there will be agencies na oofferan ka sa ibang bansa fr commercials, movies, series. Kahit nga makuha lang akong zombie sa The Walking Dead okay na ko eh kaso wala na naman ako pera pang L.A e wala ako sponsors HAHAHAHA

Moving forward, I just wanted to tell you how precious your talent is. It can bring you anywhere. I was just in upside down kaya iba path ko HAHAHAHA

Going back sa songwriting, when I try to read my lyrics, I am proud. And also, I sometimes sing my songs out of nowhere, I still feel the same pain I have, the same happiness, same excitement. Kasi it is a memory. You will always bring it with you, I also have ukulele version of my songs. I can actually share one. I might include it here soon since I have a cover of it in my Youtube account :)
