Amelia was a geek and I was an athlete. We lived in two different worlds. She loved school and I hated it. And we would definitely NEVER speak to each other! I thought she was a freak for liking school.
But all that changed on Friday 11th June 2012. I had come home from school expecting to see my parents. Instead I saw a policeman. I was confused at first. I thought they were going to take me to prison or something even though I hadn't done anything. But then I realised that if I hadn't done anything then it had to mean one thing... Someone had died. I don't think I have to tell you who died I mean it's probably quite obvious. But I'll say it anyway. Yes it was my parents.
My world turned upside down when I got adopted because I realised the reality of what had happened. I hadn't really got any family so that was their only option. I realised that life isn't always what you think it is. I was so wrong about geeks. They were just like us athletes but they liked music and school. We were the same but just with different interests.
