Christine.

I sat down kahit naghaharumentado na ang puso ko. The table has three pairs of chairs na magkakatapat kaya naglagay ng isa pang upuan para maging kabisera nito. I was in the middle between dad and ate Hailey.

"So, where is your wife, Collin? Bakit hindi mo sinama?" Dad swallowed his food before answering at lahat kami ay napatingin sa kanya.

"She has an appointment today that she can't cancel." Dad smiled. "But don't worry, she'll come with us next time." I look at dad in disbelief. Liar. I know that mom is just at home today, but she doesn't want to come dahil hindi niya kayang makita na ipinapamigay ang anak niya, unlike him.

"I see. So, hija, how old are you nga ulit?" Tito Third asked me. Including him.

"T-twenty-three po, tito." I smiled awkwardly.

"Pareho pala kayo nitong si Yuan. He's also twenty-three." Napatingin ako kay Yuan and he smiled at me kaya tumango-tango ako habang nakangiti rin.

"Ah, I see." I can't say something more. Sasabihin kong, gusto kong umatras. But then, I thought of my brother, Cameron. He's in America for his treatment. He's ill and we need money para maisalba siya from stage two liver cancer.

Dad really wants to merge with them because we need money for his treatment and to prevent our company from bankruptcy. The De Oliveiras gave dad a condition. That is, to get their children tied through fixed marriage. They want to secure their partnership through us. But, what the hell! Wala na ba silang maisip na ibang paraan?

The men started talking about business kaya nanahimik na lang ako. I'm eating my food when ate Hailey talked to me.

"Try mo 'tong pasta, Christine. For sure magugustuhan mo." Hindi naman ako tumanggi. And god! Ang sarap nga. "So, Christine, what course did you took?" Ate Hailey asked me.

"Uhm, Culinary." Sagot ko sabay kain ng chicken.

"That's great. After all, sa'yo rin mapupunta ang restaurant na ito." My goodness!

"Thanks," I said nang nakainom na ako. After that, I looked at ate Hailey na pinipigilan ang tawa. "Uh, bakit?" Takang tanong ko.

"Ha? Ah, wala wala... I just saw an angry tiger na parang inagawan ng pagkain. Pfft." Mas lalong kumunot ang noo ko. We're in a VIP area. How come? "Ah, dito sa phone ko. I opened my facebook kasi," she said na para bang alam niya ang iniisip ko.

"So, kailan nga ulit ang kasal?"

"I want it to happen two weeks from now, Sir." Akala ko after two years pa. I want to complain but I know it's a favor for my family.
