“Mom! Are you coming? You’ve been in there longer than I have!” I snapped at my Mom. We had to be in the hotel lobby in less than five minutes and we weren’t even in the elevator yet. This weekend I was participating in the Regional Beauty Pageant in Miami. I was competing against other 18 year olds including Miss USA, Hilary Dawson. I’ve won the Regional Beauty Pageant four times in a row, and every time I got to the Miss USA competition I always got runner-up with Hilary winning.

Many people stereo-type us, they say that we are conceded, rich, snobby brats who don’t give a care about anyone else. But that isn’t me, I’m defiantly not snobby or conceded, and I don’t just care about myself.

We finally got into the elevator and were heading down to the lobby. “Is Austin going to be there?” I asked my mom as we passed the fifth floor. “No. He’s filming his music video this afternoon, but he promises that he will be here later on1” she assured me. The elevator doors opened and we made our way into the ballroom. And was that room complete chaos. “Where is Lena Mahone?” I heard Lou, the pageant curator, ask. “I’m right here!" I stated when she came into view. "Lena! Thank God, we nedd you on stage STAT!" She explained, pulling up the steps. We went through the routine of how I'm going to present the crown and sash to the winner.
