*kinda trigger?? Depression, self harm. Read at your own risk*

It's been almost exactly a year since Sid asked me to be his girlfriend. It's been so wonderful.
Let me catch you up in some things...

Sid and I moved in together a few months ago. It's great. Imagine living with your best mate, like a sleepover every night. And you wake up next to your best mate, who is also the love of your life. It's the best feeling in the world.

Being in a relationship with the same person for a year probably sounds like it'd get boring... I beg to differ. As we see it, every day is a new adventure. A clean slate. You can choose to make the most of this day.

And you also may be wondering how I'm doing with my self harm and depression. Actually, I'm doing so well. I've been clean for a year and a half. Sid makes me so happy it's insane. If you told me two years ago that I would be living with the love of my life, clean for a year and a half, I'd think you were fucking mental. Honestly, I'm proud of myself.

Right now Sid and I are packing. My parents both called and they want me to visit. So, I decided this would be a great opportunity for Sid to meet my parents. I warned him multiple times. They're my parents. I got my crazy from them.

I haven't talked much about them, so here it goes.

My Dad, David Finch, he's poetic and has a way with words, just like me! He won my mom over in the 80's by writing cheesy little notes and leaving them in her locker their senior year. My mom was a sucker for romantic shit.

My Mom, Carol Conner, she's very bipolar. One minute she's happy, the next she's screaming at ya for god knows what.

"Sid!" I set my luggage down and turned to see him buying our train tickets. I smiled and pulled out my phone. "Sid!" I turned and hollered again, just to find him next to me. I laughed. "I thought you were still over there."
I laughed some more. "Bloody fuck! I can't hear now." He said, him finger in his right ear. "I'm sorry." I smiled, kissing his cheek.
"Anyways," he pulled his finger out of his ear and handed me my ticket. "The train will be here in five." He said, sighing.

"You nervous?"
"Nahh.." He shook his head and smiled as he spoke.
It was quiet for a few seconds.
"Yeahh.." He admitted.
"They'll love you, I promise." I patted his shoulder.
"Let's hope." He slung his backpack over the other shoulder.
He put his arm around me, I nuzzled closer to him for warmth.

I heard the train's horn not too far in the distance. I spotted the headlights and picked up my suitcase and prepared myself.
