do you know how it feels
when all the eyes in the world
stare you down
she does
she says they are knives
knives that stab her everywhere
never missing a spot on her body
making scars all over herself
no mercy
but here's the thing
if you retract your knives
she'll get offended
she has learned to live with them
stabbing
jabbing
scarring
making her life miserable
yet pleasant
I don't know if you understand
how it truly feels
with all these metaphors
so here it is
when all the eyes in the world
stare her down
it makes her feels exposed and scared
something she can't live without
