It was the morning of the show was really excited to be there though I wasn't to excited for getting up early and driving for thirty minutes stupid LA traffic. I was sitting in the Starbucks line about to get an iced mocha. I had left early that morning maybe it was because it was Sunday and I wasn't ready for school the next day.
Once I got my coffee from the very cute coffee boy, I headed to the studio. It was a very long drive and the traffic seem to be going slower than normal. When I finally got there they had just enough time to get hooked up to a mic and for me to hit update from my phone to post the Q&A.
I stood next to the stage as Ellen introduced me. It was weird standing there waiting for my name to be said I was super nervous I would trip going up there, and everyone would just laugh at me.
"We have a guest today, its her first interview so let's be nice. Welcome out Mia Spring. The famous YouTube singer." I walked out on stage, waving. Ellen had me sit down across from her. It was truly a once in a life time experience I felt as if in had died right then and there I would have died completely happy.
"So this being your first interview, how are you feeling?"
"I'm pretty good, I was quite nervous on the way here but I am actually doing good now, its not as bad as I made it out to be in my head." I almost laughed to my self hoping she didn't see that in was lying through my teeth.
"Well I hope to make you feel as comfortable as possible, anyway, this is an interview so in will be asking some questions. First when did you start singing?"
"I was five the first time I sang it was kindergarten and in was in music class I got the song Mary Had a Little Lamb stuck in my head and sung it all day. I continued singing after getting many compliments, then in the fifth grade I joined the choir I was put in choir again in middle school then after a traumatizing experience I stopped school choir and joined drama and YouTube."
"Next question, do you write original songs or just covers?"
"I have one original that I wrote in my freshman year and I am working on an original, but until that is done I well carry on with the covers. But I really must hand it out to the artists who write there own songs its hard work."
"Impressive, well I hope to hear one soon." She paused and I sat up straighter whipping my hands on my skirt. "When we get back we are going to play a game. The five second rule." We cut to commercial and Ellen said I did well the walked off set. When she came back she walked me to a diffeet set. She told me that rules of the game and then turned to the camera only then did I realize we had been recording.
After a few rounds we cut again and walked back to the main set. We talked a little more about my classes. Then before we were about to cut she said. "Oh and I am so happy to tell you that you you will be singing at the kids choice awards with a secret partner." I almost jumped out of my seat, she must have been kidding. The show cut and I hopped up so fast that I could have gone through the roof the stage crew came on and one of the managers, at least that's that what I think she does handed me a song.
7 Years by Luke Graham. I'm never going to pull this off.
