Steve

"Hello?" I hear Tori's voice on the other line.
I stand in my assigned bedroom in the quinjet with a phone pressed against my right ear. I smile when I hear her sweet voice.
"Hey, Tori," I breathe.
"S-Steve?" she asks, her voice muffled. "Oh my god, it's you!"
"Yeah, it's me."
"I-I miss you so much,"
"I miss you too, Tori."
"What have you all been doing, so far?"
"Well," I sigh. "We cleared two H.Y.D.R.A. bases in the past two days."
"A lot more interesting than what I'm doing,"
"What have you done?"
"Interrogation with Fury,"
"What?"
"Fury wanted info about the fire. Apparently a guy named Matthew Williams caused the fire. The guy in the blue suit that we saw in London."
"What?" I ask. "I thought S.H.I.E.L.D. captured him."
"They did," she says. "I don't know how he escaped."
     "Interesting,"
"And the guy whose voice was heard in the walkie talkie was with him. His name is John Robinson."
"Woah, that's interesting," I say. "You sound exhausted, why?"
"I couldn't get any sleep last night,"
     "Me either,"
     "I really miss you, Steve."
"I miss you too, Tori. More than I can put into words."
"It's hard to believe that you've only been gone for one day," she says. "We still have thirteen days left without each other."
"Yeah," I sigh. "I can't take it anymore. Everyone is acting normal while I've been sulking."
"Me too," Tori says. "I feel like I've been looked at like a different person."
"Yeah, me too."
"I just want you all to come home. Everything is different around here without anyone."
"Where's Bruce?"
"Studying his notes on his floor. I'm in my room."
"Yeah, I am too. Everyone else is in the living room area."
"I just feel alone," Tori says. "It's just a weird feeling."
"You're not alone. I'm feeling the same as you are."
"I'm scared, Steve," Tori gulps. "Things are eerie and Fury isn't being himself. Something is going to happen."
"I'm not going to let that happen," I coo. "I promise."
"Steve, I know that you want to keep me safe, but I'm going to have to handle myself on this one. You have a mission to complete and I can't be distracting you."
"I know," I breathe. "But I can't bare the thought of losing you. Please, be careful."
"Steve, when am I never not careful?"
"That's the Tori Stark I know," I laugh.
     "Now you sound like Fury."
"I don't think that Fury would say I love you."
     Tori gags. "Yeah, no."
     "Aw, c'mon,"
     "I love you too,"
I smile. "What are you doing right now?"
"Sitting on my bed," she states. "What are you doing?"
"Standing in the middle of my bedroom, talking to you."
     "What time is it there?"
     "10:00p.m.,"
"Oh, the time difference is crazy."
     "It really is."
"I still feel like we are being weird compared to everyone else."
"Yeah, we're definitely the only ones that aren't acting normal. And we're far from it."
"Steve," Tori says. "Please, be careful. I don't want you, or anyone for that matter, getting hurt."
"I know," I say. "I'll try to come back in one piece."
     She laughs. "You better."
I hear a knock on my door.
"Hang on a sec, Tori." I say into the phone.
I put the speaker of the phone onto my chest and walk to the door. I open it, seeing Tony.
"You're talking to her, aren't you?" Tony asks.
     "Yes," I say.
Tony smiles. "Say goodbye soon because we aren't allowed on the phones for long periods of time."
     "Okay," I say.
Tony walks away, so I shut the door. I put the phone back to my ear.
"I'm really sorry, Tori, but I have to go. I miss you so much."
"It's okay. I miss you too."
     "Bye, I love you."
     "I love you too."
