Shut Up And Dance!

"Oh don't you dare look back.

I said, "You're holding back, "
She said, "Shut up and dance with me!"

Cecil was bored.
It was the night of his school dance, and he, along with his half-brothers, and a few others, had been forced to attend.
It's not like he was there to dance or anything.

We were victims of the night,
The chemical, physical, kryptonite
Helpless to the bass and the fading light
Oh, we were bound to get together,
Bound to get together.

Cecil sighed, and went over to the table to put his drink down, it was disgusting anyway.
His head hurt, and the loud music and flashing lights did nothing to help that.
He checked his watch.
Only 3 more hours to go.

She took my arm,

Suddenly, the crowd in front of him parted, as his best friend (and crush) stepped out of it. She walked towards him with a disgusted look.
"Im sick of this!" She exclaimed, throwing her hands up, exasperatedly.
"This party is boring"

Cecil nodded, wanting nothing more than to get out of there.

Suddenly, a song that Cecil didn't recognise came on. Lou's eyes flashed.

"I love this song!" She said, grinning, her bad mood all but forgotten.
"Come on!" She shouted, grabbing Cecil's arm.

I don't know how it happened.

Suddenly, they were both on the face floor.

Lou laughed
"Come on!"

Cecil shook his head.
"I'm not a dancer" he shouted over the music.

"Well, good thing I am then"

We took the floor and she said,

"Oh, don't you dare look back.
Just keep your eyes on me."
I said, "You're holding back, "
She said, "Shut up and dance with me!"

Cecil frowned
"I don't know..."

Lou rolled her eyes.
"Shut up and dance with me!" She said, laughing.

A backless dress and some beat up sneaks,

Cecil tried to ignore the fact that they were still holding hands.

Lou laughed, and pulled him in closer. He was suddenly aware that she was wearing a backless dress, and he blushed when his hand brushed her exposed skin. He glanced down, and noticed that she was wearing her old converses, the ones that were basically falling apart.

Cecil started to sway in time with the music. 'This isn't a bad song' he thought to himself, as he unconsciously began to dance with Lou.

He glanced up and looked at her. Her eyes kept flashing gold, but you could always see the bright green that Cecil lover so much.

I felt it in my chest as she looked at me.

Suddenly, Lou looked at him.

Cecil felt his chest tighten.

I knew we were bound to be together,

Cecil suddenly stopped worrying wether Lou liked him or not, or wether he was overdressed. He just decided to have fun with his best friend. He grinned back at her, as he put his hands on her waist, and they both danced.

We took the floor and she said,

Deep in her eyes,
I think I see the future.
I realize this is my last chance.

Suddenly, Lou's eyes flashed.
But this time, they turned all of the colours of the rainbow, super fast.
Lou looked a bit dazed for a moment, as Cecil admired how pretty all the different colours looked against her skin.

"What happened?" She asked, shaking her head.

Cecil shrugged, trying to keep back his blush.
"Your eyes. They went all of the colours of the rainbow for a second"

Lou's now green eyes widened in shock, before she started to laugh.

"What is it?" Cecil asked, laughing as well

Lou shook her head,
"It doesn't matter. Let's just have fun!!!"

She took my arm,
I don't know how it happened.
We took the floor and she said,

They danced until the party was over, and then they walked back to their cabins together, Cecil dropping her off.

"So, are you going to tell me what the eye thing meant?" Cecil asked, when they reached the Hecate cabin.

Lou smiled mysteriously
"Maybe. One day" she said, before leaning over and giving Cecil a peck on the cheek.

That night, when they were both in bed, they sang a line from the song.
At the same time, and in the same way.

"Ohh-ohh-hoo, shut up and dance!"
