Bellamy POV
Clarke was a little quiet on the way home but I just let her be, she was probably worried about Echo.
When we were almost home she slipped her hand on my knee. I glanced at her but she was looking out her window.
"Are you Allright princess?"
"Hmm?"
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah, just a little tired I guess"
I didn't answer as I pulled into the drive and we both got out.
After I paid Lia for babysitting Bella we both got ready for bed. When I got out of the bathroom Clarke wasn't around so I went to look for her when I heard sounds coming from the baby monitor in Bella's room.
When I peeked in Clarke was bouncing her gently on her shoulder, rubbing her back and crooning soft words of comfort to her as Bella sniffed softly, arms wrapped around her neck.
When Bella saw me she held out her arms to me, twisting slightly in Clarke's arms, "Dah Dah!"
Clarke turned and met me halfway, handing Bella to me who wasted no time burrowing into my shoulder.
"I think she had a nightmare. You were in the bathroom and I..."
I nodded at Clarke while soothing Bella.
Clark reached out to stroke one of her curls and I felt her arms slide around my waist from the side.
"She's a little angel isn't she?" Clarke presses a kiss to my shoulder.
I smiled, nodding as Bella drifted off.
Once we got her settled we both went straight to sleep, too tired to talk.
~~~~~
We were awakened a short time later to Bella crying. When I got to her room, she was burning up.
I gave her some baby motrin, and Clark gave her a bath but her fever climbed higher. Bella's gradually crying stopped and I thought that was good but Clarke shook her head grimly.
"Bell, if we can't get her fever down you're gonna need to take her to the emergency room. She's clammy and getting listless. That's not good."
We made it to the hospital in record time.
To my surprise and relief, Clarke seemed to know the girl on desk duty and we were ushered into an on call room before I had even finished the paperwork.
While the nurse finished weighing Bella and taking her vitals the Doctor walked in.
"Clarke?" The amber haired doctor asked, in disbelief.
"Mom?"
The woman raised her eyebrows at Clarke in a questioning gaze. I decided to jump in.
"I'm Bellamy Blake and this is my daughter Bella. She's running a fever and we can't get it down."
She took the hint and started examining my daughter while Clarke tried to fade into the background. When I glanced at her she just shook her head.
"Well, Mr. Blake it appears to be a virus. We need to keep her hydrated and make sure we can get her fever down.
"Should I be worried?"
"No, fevers happen at her age but it's always best to be cautious. I'm going to give you a prescription to ward off the fever. It may come back for a few nights until this virus runs it's course. Get some Pedia pops too." She finishes writing some notes on the chart and starts to walk towards the door.
She pauses before leaving. "Good luck Mr. Blake. Clarke may I speak to you for a minute?"
"I don't really think that's necessary Dr. Griffin" Clarke states coldly before turning her back on her mom.
Her mom turns and steps out without another word.
"Are you ok princess?"
She sighs, "Yeah, let's just go home. Ok?"
Clarke POV
***The next morning ***We all slept a little later the next morning. I started the coffee while Bellamy got Bella up. Having taken the day since she was sick.
When they got to the kitchen she was rubbing the sleep from her eyes but raised her arms at me when she spotted me. "Mama"
It was the first time she had said mama. My heart melted at that word, but then I froze, looking at Bellamy afraid of his reaction. He just smiled at me in a way that made my face flush and handed Bella to me. He placed a lingering on my forehead while rubbing her soft curls before going to start the pancakes.
As I watched him walk across the kitchen, chest bare and pajama pants slung low on his hips I felt my heart overflow with the emotions I felt for him.
"I love you Bellamy" the words spilled out of my mouth before I could think about it and take them back.
He glanced back at me with that lopsided smirk of his. "I know princess." He winked at me, "Just remember who said it first..."
