"The one who could protect it all..." I whispered.
"Did you say something?" I heard my most trusted companion ask.
"Nothing. Just thinking about the past." I said back, and he raised his eyebrow.
"Yeah, how long ago?" He mocked.
"A long time ago. When our legacy started." I told him wistfully.
"Ahh. Yeah, well that was odd." He laughed.
"But fortunate. Very fortunate." I whispered. He caressed my hand.
"Are you okay?" He questioned, and I nodded.
"Yeah, this happens a lot. Us women get emotional sometimes. But not necessarily sad. I'm also happy. It's easy to get caught up in the days of the past," I explained.
"I get what you mean. The dreams still haunt me, but I also remember the day that pain ended. So it's kind of bittersweet," He let go of my hand, and hugged me. I ran a hand through his hair, and smiled.
"You don't have to worry. We'll always be together. Forever. I promise," I vowed.
He smiled. "I love you. I love you. I love you so much---"
