Chapter 7 – Kiss me, you ANIMAL!
I nearly topple over, grabbing on to some random guy’s forehead before I go head-first towards the hard-wood floor. I smile, standing straight and holding my empty beer bottle in the air. He chuckles, nodding at me and walking away.
I wobble to the kitchen, digging through the fridge for a beer. I find one, throwing the empty one in the sink and cracking open the new one. I chug half of it, feeling someone tap on my shoulder. I turn around, spotting my old friend Milo.
His spiky blonde hair with blue streaks seems perfect; his strong jaw and perfect nose fitting nicely together; his chocolate brown eyes like melted candy bars swirling around in there.
“Miley!” I cheer, jumping into his arms and spilling a bit of beer on him. I pull away, setting the bottle down and giggling. “Sorry, Miley,” I mumble quietly, touching the part of his shirt that is wet.
He chuckles, taking my hand and shaking his head. “How drunk are you, Linx?”
“Drunk enough to want to rape a hot guy in a closet!” I exclaim, slurring my words a bit. He bursts out laughing, putting a strong arm around my waist. “So how about it?” I wink.
He laughs, pulling me back to the dance floor. “Dance with me first, then I will let you rape me in a closet, okay?”
I nod excitedly, quickly pulling him towards the dance floor. I press myself against him, putting my whole back on his front. I grin, dancing to the music with him. He pulls me closer, a tight smirk playing on his thin kissable lips. My eyes meet a pair of familiar blue eyes, making me frown at the person.
Well, there goes my night.
I replace the frown with a grin, flipping around to look Milo dead in the eyes. “So you want to go find a closet now or what?”
He chuckles, nodding. I grab his hand, pulling him upstairs and keeping my eyes on Rex the whole time. I spot a closet, speeding towards it. I open the door, pushing him inside and looking down the hall. Rex stares at me as I look away, climbing into the closet with Milo.
Milo pulls me into a kiss as soon as I close the door, pulling me into his warm body. I squirm, trying to get comfortable with kissing one of my best friends, unsuccessfully.
F*ck my life.
The door flies open, making me peel away from Milo and look at our intruder. Rex growls deep in his chest, clenching his fists. I roll my eyes, passing him.
“Have fun!” I whisper in Rex’s ear, trotting off, suddenly sober.
I walk downstairs, looking around for the twins, not seeing them. I sigh, walking down the last of the steps. I push through the crowd, climbing up on to the biggest amp and taking the microphone from the host of the party.
“HI, People of my school!” I exclaim, talking into the mic. “So who wants to hear me sing a song?”
They all start cheering and grinning, drunker than squirrels on Halloween. I bend down to the DJ, whispering the song name to him. He nods, a big smile on his pale emo face.
‘This is Halloween’ from the movie Nightmare Before Christmas starts playing, making me starting tapping on my thighs to the beat with my free hand.
“Boys and girls of every age, would you like to see something strange?” I sing perfectly, my voice floating into the air. “Come with us and you will see! This, our town of Halloween!”
The crowd starts swaying to the music and some of them singing along. I grin, spotting Tasha and Kim gazing up at me and motioning for them to come up and sing, too. They reluctantly climb up, grabbing mics and singing. We urge the crowd to sing, too, making them join in.
