Chapter 13 – It’s never too late to live Happily Ever After.
(Oliver’s Point of View)
“Can we have a minute alone please?” Rex asked, looking at me with those piercing blue eyes which were similar to mine.
The question threw me off a bit and I bet it showed on my face; why the f*ck did he want to be alone with Linx? I mentally groaned, slowly nodding my head at Rex. “Sure,” I mumbled, biting my lip lightly and leaving the room, closing the door behind me.
That’s when the questions really started flying. What the f*ck? Is something serious going to happen? Will Linx finally realize who she loves? Probably not, she’s too stubborn. True story.
I raked my fingers through my shaggy brown hair before trotting down the hospital’s hallway, stuffing my hands in my pockets as I walked. Feeling the cool spring air against my pale skin as I walked outside, I let out a sigh of happiness, hearing a girl-ish giggle behind me.
I turned to look at the person who had giggled, noticing a petite girl with a sucker in her mouth and a blue beanie on her dyed fire engine-red hair. She was adorable on so many levels.
I felt my cheeks heat up slightly as she looked me up and down, smirking and extending a small hand to me. I gladly shook it, a small smile on my lips. “I’m Sophie,” She announced, her golden brown eyes sparkling.
“Oliver,” I replied, reluctantly pulling my hand away from hers. She pulled the sucker out of her mouth, looking me over once more. “What brings you here?” I asked casually.
Sophie smiled, as a giggled escaped from her lips. “My brother is getting his cast taken off from his arm,” She explained, popping the sucker back into her mouth. “What about you?”
I shrugged, sticking my hands in my pockets again. “My friend got into a car crash,” I said, glancing at her and noticing she was making little quotations in the air when I said friend.
“Uh huh, ‘friend’,” She chuckled dryly, causing me to smirk and arch a brow at her.
“Are you jealous already?” I purred, my smirk widening as a blush painted across her slightly-tanned cheeks. She pouted, shaking her head quickly. “Liar,” I whispered in her ear, blowing hot air on it.
She squeaked, her blush darkening as her beautiful eyes narrowed at me. “You’re quite the player, aren’t you?” She asked.
I snorted, rolling my deep blue eyes and running my fingers through my shaggy brown hair. “Not in the slightest,” I answered honestly.
She raised a brown eyebrow at me which I assumed was her natural hair color. “Well, right then you acted like a total douche.”
I frowned, face-palming and groaning rather loudly. “Great, now I’m acting like him.” I sighed, pulling my hand away and noticing her confused expression. “My twin brother acts like a total player all the time, even though he’s in love with one girl. And I acted like him just now.”
The confusion on her face faded away and she nodded slowly. “It sounds like he’s seriously in denial.” I nodded in agreement. “Does she know?”
I shook my head furiously. “She’s in just as much denial as he is. She probably hasn’t even realized she likes him yet, even though we all know they are head over heels in love with each other.”
Sophie shrugged, looking into my eyes. “They need to grow a pair and tell each other.” She smirked, her gold-brown eyes sparkling again.
Suddenly, the hospital’s front doors flew open and Rex paraded out, looking a bit shocked with a blush over his pale cheeks. “Oli, I need to tell you something!” He exclaimed as he rushed over, grabbing my shoulders and looking me dead in the eye. “I think I’m in love with, Linx.”
I automatically face-palmed and shook my head in shame, as did Sophie beside us. “You’re a moron, Rex, like seriously.”
Rex frowned, glaring at me slightly. “What’s that suppose to mean?!” He snapped, letting go of my shoulders and crossing his arms over his chest.
“You and Linx are the only people who didn’t know that,” I rolled my eyes, glancing over at Sophie. “This is the clueless moron I was telling you about.”
She nodded, looking at Rex and shaking her head. “I figured,”
Rex gave her a ‘who da fuck are you?’ look before looking back at me. “What do I do, Oli? Do I tell her? Or…or, uh…”
“Tell her,” Sophie piped up from beside us, playing with one of her fire-engine red curls. “But make it special. Like plan a perfect date for her. Do something together that she’ll really enjoy. Then at the end of the perfect date, confess to her and give her the best kiss she has ever experienced.”
I smirked; Sophie’s idea was completely perfect, just like her. I nodded in agreement, looking back at Rex. “Yeah, that would work.”
Rex gulped nervously, nodding his head slowly and biting his lip. “When does she get out?” He asked, jutting his thumb in the direction of the hospital behind us.
“Tuesday, two days away,” I replied, watching him as he thought. “Plan the date for Friday,” I suggested.
He nodded again, looking at me. “That’s what I was planning.” He said, glancing at Sophie. “Thanks, girl-I-don’t-know.”
“No problem, man-whore-in-denial,” Sophie chuckled, saluting him as he smiled, heading back into the hospital.
“You’re something,” I mumbled, grinning and looking over at her. She seemed so amazing, so nice, so sweet, so perfect.
She giggled, smiling back at me. “I hope it’s a good something,” I nodded. “Well, you’re a good something, too,” She winked.
I suppressed a laugh, grinning wider and chuckling instead. “I’m glad,”
A blush painted across her cheeks again. “Give me your arm,” I held out my arm to her, confused. She rolled up my sleeve, pulling out a red sharpie which was the same color as her hair. She wrote something down, sliding my sleeve back down. “There,”
I raised a brow, a small smirk on my lips as I rolled up my long striped sleeve, seeing her number with a heart next to it. I looked back at her, just as she leaned in to kiss my cheek, making her kiss my lips instead.
Both of our eyes went wide and we froze, neither of us pulled away. We just stood there, staring at each other. I felt her hands slowly move to the back of my neck, pulling me closer as her eyes fluttered closed.
I smiled into the kiss, wrapping my arms around her waist and pressing her body against my own. Her lips tasted delicious, like strawberries. It was heavenly.
Our bodies moved in sync with each other. She tangled her fingers in my hair as I licked those delicious lips of hers.
You know what?
I could easily get used to this. (;
