The guy we were looking for was in a tank and Alex told me to consume him. He thought that if I consumed someone I might feel better.

"Ready?" He asked me.

"Ready." I said and watched Alex jump down in front of the tank and caused a lot of commotion. He threw cars and killed soldiers. I jumped down on top of the tank and opened the hatch. A man driving the tank turned around and I punched my arm through his chest. I consumed him and I started looking through his memories.

The memory showed New York Hospital and a Blackwatch soldier standing guard over a pile of blood. He was talking to some guy.

"Captain Lim!"

"At ease trooper. Get on the horn and tell them we've secured the Penn station bodies. I'm taking the heavy armor to destroy a hive. Get control points up in this area then rendezvous with us at Gentek."

"Yes sir!"

Everything turned white and I was back in the tank. I jumped out and told Alex it was all good. My next target was in another tank that Alex was distracting. I got in and consumed the guy that was Captain Lim.

"Sir, director McMullen surrendered the bodies to a civilian."

"Ragland?"

"Yes sir."

"You did the right thing, son. Your new orders are this: recover ALL samples, bodies and evidence from Dr. Ragland. Bring them to Base AE-One."

"Ragland?"

"If he doesn't interfere, leave him be. He's already implicated. He won't talk."

"And McMullen, sir?"

"It's time for the doctor to learn who's in charge in this little excursion."

The memory faded away and I was back in the tank. I jumped out and Alex followed close behind. As we were running, the infection was killing me. I stopped running and held my right shoulder. It felt like it was spreading.

"What's wrong?" Alex asked.

"The-the thing on my back. It hurts-AAGGHH!" I slammed my fists on the ground and tried not to think of the pain it was causing.

"Can you still walk?" Alex asked me.

"Yeah, it just hurts knowing that this thing is killing me slowly."

We jumped from rooftop to rooftop and Alex kept a close eye on me along the way.

(St. Paul's Hospital...)

"What's happening to him?" Alex asked Dr. Ragland. I kept slouching and Dr. Ragland was inspecting my back so he would constantly straighten my back for me.

"Since you and Ethan both carry the infection, they might have wanted to use the both of you to produce an anti-virus. If we learn what it's doing, maybe I can find a way to help his biology reject it." Ragland said and straightened my back again.

"How?" Alex asked.

"Cut off its food supply." Ragland said.

"Does that mean you have to kill me?" I asked them.

"No, it means we're going to a marine base that can help me cure the infection on your back."

"A marine base?" Alex asked him.

"Yes, there could be a possible cure for him." Ragland said.

"I'll take whatever chance we got." Alex said and we all got into a car and drove to the marine base.
