I'm putting the girls into bed. As, I kiss both of their foreheads, and get up. Tiara ask, "When will Angela be our mommy?"
It took me by surprise. I don't know what the hell to say. I can't promise anything to her. But, she wants someone to look up to.
"Baby, I can't tell you. She might not be your mommy." I tell her. I guess Tiana was listening, because she says, "But, she's like a mommy. So why can't you make her our mommy?"
"Because, like Princess Tiana, and Naveen, had to fall in love... That's what's going to need to happen, for her to be your mommy."
"Angela isn't Princess Tiana... She's Queen Elsa." Tiara says. Tiana nods, in approval.
"Oh really? And why is that?" I sit on the chair, in the middle of their beds.
"She's nice, funny, and she protects us." Tiana says.
"But, she doesn't have a prince." I remind them.
"Because, she can't have a prince. She has a king, silly."
"But, I'm not a king. The Queen can't marry me. And, Disney don't have a king."
"But, that doesn't mean, there won't be one!"
"Goodnight babies." I kiss their heads again, and walk out the door. I walk into the living room,to see my pops sitting on the chair.
"Your babies are wiser than an owl boy." He has a southern accent. He was watching a throwback comedian show from George Carlin.
"So, who's this Angela girl?"
"She's this girl, that Tyshawn played with. But, she's special. But, she had this attitude." I tell him.
He looks at me, "like Monique?"
I shake my head no. "Nothing like that bitch" I start.
"Good, because I couldn't stand her!"
"Her attitude, is more like... If you fuck me over... I'm done with you. No second chances. No explanation... None of that. She's 17, turning 18, in two weeks. But, she's the nicest person ever! She deserves nothing that Tyshawn did to her." I explain.
"What did he do?"
"He was dared to 'date the ugliest girl in school.' And, date her until she gave him her virginity. And, that took a month. He was smooth... And it happened, and the next morning, she wakes up to all his friends in the room, taking pictures of her chest."
"That's wrong. And many levels... But, that's your brother... Y'all all got my looks, but out of all three of y'all... You have my personality. Well, Tyshawn does too, but back when I was a dip shit... Pretty soon, he's gonna regret it... And, a month? He had never had a girl that long. I know for a fact, he's fucked girls over a month, but pretend to date one? He had feelings... You, my son, will basically have war. And, trust me. It won't be pretty. She's gonna wind up, either picking you, or picking him..."
