There I stood. Staring down on the folks of Collinade. The town was set aflame, the fire eating away all in its path. My cape blew in the wind while my hat covered my face. I had my mask on so no one would recognize me.

My long hair fluttered about my face, the brown curls and waves flowing in the breeze. I was a female and the only female around here actually. It is the year 2124, and there are only two towns that stand in the whole world.

In the year 2095, there was a huge war. Towns and cities burned down, and many lives were lost. I was told we used to be around six billion people long before the war. The world population, however, is now 1378 people. We all ended up calling that fight "The final battle", because we haven't had a war since. Afterwards, in year the 2103, a disease had spread and it was a disease that seemed incurable. There were more lives that were lost caused by the disease than the war itself. Many scientists at the time had said that the disease was due to all the rotting bodies left over by the war.

Now, in the year 2124, there are mostly men, and very few women. The women that remain took refuge in a town not too far from Collinade. They named it after a lady who managed to rebuild the town. It goes by "Farrowfield".

Enough about the town's background, though. It's time I introduce myself. My name is Maggie. Just Maggie. Sadly, my mother was killed by men when they found out she had given birth to a female. My father couldn't stop them, because they had killed him a few months earlier when they found out he had married without special consent. My mother hid me when the men came to Farrowfield to bring her demise. It was considered to be the town's most scandalous crime of the decade.

Some may be wondering why I stand in disguise above the town that brought death to my parents and had wanted to see me dead, as well.

Well, I'll have to explain how I got to this stage in my life. I sometimes wonder myself, how, after causing trouble, I had lived to see my sixteenth birthday...
