Growing up Latino ,I knew this saying very well: When life throws you lemons, you make lemonade. My mom is the true definition of a person who lived that quote all her life. Being a single mother for her was not easy. She worked her ass off to put me in certain programs at school and she made sure I wasn't slacking on anything. Living in the projects I seen many children who didnt have a wonderful support system like I did. So I thanked God everyday for my mom. My dad died when I was around 8 because he was a big ganglord, that many people apparently envied. Even though I wasnt that young when my dad got killed I barely remember him ,he was never really home ,my mom always told me that he was flying to other countries to handle important business. I guess that "important business" is the reason his ass got killed. Really I just want to make my mother proud by going to college and getting a degree in nursing. But with the money problems I been having lately college is way down the list right now. I work at a boutique in downtown ATL that sell the most beautiful pieces of clothing and jewelry any woman have seen. Sometimes I sit and daydream of me one day taking my mom out for a ride and the most luxurious vehicle made to the most expensive stores ,cashing out on anything she wants. My mom always told me dreams were made to come true. So hopefully that one does..but for now GRINDING is my middle name.
