"Sarah! Wait up!"
This, is my best friend, Cameron. Cameron Jacques. She's been with me since elementary school and hasn't left my side ever since. You could basically call her my backbone. I've had many on and off friendships, but my friendship with her may have wavered but never broken. She loves me and I love her. Period. Not the lesbian kind of love. Not that it's a bad thing, but we're both straight.
Breaking my train of thoughts, I hear Cameron say, "Are you?"
"Am I what?"
"Ugh!! There's a party this Friday. I'm invited. I can get at least 5 people with me. I'm taking you Nicole, Anne, and Xavier was already invited and he's getting Brandon, so ya. So, you coming?"
"Oh! Okay, ya totes I would. Whose party is it, though?"
"Oh, it's-"
The wicked bell again!
"You know what, I'm coming. I'll meet you at lunch, okay?"
"Ya sure."
Walking into to class, I prepare myself for the wrath of History.
*lunch break*
Walking over to my usual table, I see Xavier. Together, we sit down on the table, and are instantly greeted by Nicole, aka Nicky, and Anastasia aka Anne. Me and Nicky met in 4th grade but became friends in 5th grade. We have had an on-and-off friendship ever since, but have stuck together. Me and Anne met in grade 6. She helped me in history. We started making notes together and have been inseparable ever since. And Xavier's and my friendship has been quite recent actually, but we are so close, people sometimes think we're dating. We met in grade 8 and are like siblings.
I see Brandon walking towards us. He's Xavier's best friend and has been in our group ever since he became friends with Xavier.
"Hey girls!" Brandon has forever been an extremely jolly guy.
"Hey Brandon", we all, except for Xavier, reply, a little less enthusiastically.
"What the hell dude?" The two boys tease each other frequently.
"Yeah right. Hey girls and guy."
Breaking their stupid fight, I whisper to Xavier, "Is Brandon coming to the party on Friday?"
"Ya why", he asked, curiousness lacing his voice.
"Because I don't want it to be weird, you know."
"I get it. Go ahead, show your excitement", he states knowingly.
Taking his permission to discuss the topic I pipe in, "Who all are gonna be attending the party this Friday?"
"Most of the school", Anne replies.
"Oh cool!"
"Hey Sarah, when are you going on your trip?" This time, it's Cameron.
"I'm leaving on the day after graduation."
You see, due to my parents' heavy travelling schedule, I never got to travel with them. So after seeking their permission, because I'll need money for the trip, you know, I decided on going for a solo trip across the States, to see it for myself. Since I already have a driving license, I'll be travelling, mostly, by car. This is my dream. And in a few months, it'll be coming true.
