"Where the hell have you been?" Lily shouted at me as soon as I entered the hotel doors.
"I was with a friend." I replied quickly. "Now, what do you want?"
She grabbed my arm and pulled me to the elevators roughly. "C'mon. Dad is pissed and Mom is literally bawling her eyes out.
"Well then what's the big deal? That's what happens everyday." I replied as she pushed the button on the elevator.
"This is different. Dad is really mad this time. Ace did some shit that really screws up his plans for some investor. Winter, it's bad."
"Oh, great. Once again the whole family suffers because of Ace's bullshit."
We stepped off the elevator and made our way towards Ace and my father's room. I could hear the yelling before we'd even gotten close to the room. The door was closed.
"I found her." Lily said as she opened the door, trudging towards one of the chairs and taking a seat.
"Finally!" Dad exclaimed. "Where the hell were you?"
"I was with a friend." I mumbled, slumping in the seat next to Lily.
Looking at Dad's face, I understood what Lily meant. Usually when Dad got mad, he was never really mad, just irritated. But, this time he looked down right furious. I didn't need to even know what he was mad about to know that shit was hitting the fan tonight.
"What-" he sighed, running a frustrated hand through his hair. "I'll deal with you later. But you!" He whipped around to point at Ace. "You better have a damn good reason for what you've done."
"I don't have to explain myself to you!" Ace spit out. "I'm glad I did what I did!"
"What the hell did he even do?" I questioned, looking from Dad to Ace, a puzzled look on my face.
They both ignored me.
"Oh, yes you do. As long as you live under my roof and use my money, then you answer to me! Now, before I ship your ass to military school, explain whatever the hell happened between you two!" Dad shouted. Ace's face grew pale at the mention of military school.
"Darrel! Stop cursing! It's not his fault! He didn't know!" My mother sobbed, the pile of tissues surrounding her growing by the second.
"You and I both know damn well that he knew. He's been trying to tear this family apart in any way he can for the past year and I am sick of it! I have given you a year to grieve, son. I feel horrible for what happened to her, but I will not tolerate this any longer."
Ace scowled at our father before standing up and storming out of the room, knocking over the chair he'd been sitting on in his rage.
"I know you're angry, Darrel, but did you really have to bring her up?" My mom said bitterly, getting up and walking out of the room as well. Lily followed soon after. She was always the one to console our mother.
"What the hell happened, Dad?" I asked angrily. I was mad at what he'd used against Ace, but I needed to know what happened.
He sighed, rubbing his face with his hand before dropping into one of the chairs. "You remember the big investor I was telling you about? Ian Phillips, the one with the Phillips hotel chain?"
"Yeah."
"Well, he has a 16 year old daughter, Serena." Dad began. "And by some chance, Ace managed to get her to sleep with him. Mr. Phillips somehow found out and went ballistic since Ace is 19. He also found out that Ace is my son and is now furious with our family."
