"Let's go in there!" Lily shouted, pointing to an expensive looking shop.
"Uh, Lil, that place looks really expensive." I said slowly, grabbing her arm to keep her from running into the store.
"So?"
"I thought you spent all your money at the last shop." I replied, glancing at the many shopping bags in her arms.
"I did," a mischievous grin spread across her face as she pulled out a credit card. "I swiped Dad's credit card this morning."
"Lily!" I exclaimed, knowing full well how angry our father would get if he knew we were spending his money without permission.
"What? You don't have to use it, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to."
"Are you kidding me? Let's go!" I grabbed her arm and pulled her into the store.
Fifty minutes into shopping, Lily and I showed no means of stopping until I bumped into a tall figure, sending myself face planting onto the floor.
"Oh gosh, Winter, I'm so sorry." I looked up and was met with those sparkly green eyes that I knew as none other than Cason. "We really need to stop meeting this way. Me doing something stupid and you somehow ending up falling on the floor."
I laughed recalling the very first day I'd arrived in Santa Monica and Cason had hit me with a volleyball. My mind instantly trailed off to Zach as I grabbed Cason's hand and let him pull me up.
I sighed, I had been thinking about Zach for a while since I saw him three days ago on the beach. For some reason, I couldn't stop replaying that moment in my head. Part of me wished that I had just turned around and ran back to him, begging for an explanation of why he had to do what he did. But, then a stronger part of me would quiet that voice because even if I had turned around and ran to him, that wouldn't changed what had already happened.
"Winter, you okay?" Lily asked, coming up to me and Cason. She laid a concerned hand on my arm but instantly dropped it when her gaze fell on Cason. I had to stop myself from pushing her chin up, because her mouth had dropped open.
"I'm okay, Lily." I chuckled, as Cason gave Lily his most charming smile, causing her to swoon. "Lily, this is my friend, Cason. Cason, this is my little sister, Lily."
"Wow, Winter, you never told me you had such a beautiful sister." Cason commented, smiling as he watched Lily blush.
I rolled my eyes and suppressed a smile. "Probably because you never asked. Plus, she's my little sister."
"By only a year! Besides, we're practically the same age." Lily replied, defensively.
"I completely agree." Cason smiled triumphantly, probably thinking he had found his new conquest in my sister. But, if there was one thing I was certain of, it was that Lily was not about to become another one of Cason's plays.
After enduring ten minutes of Lily and Cason just flirting back and forth, I finally decided enough was enough.
"Okay, that's enough flirting for one day, don't you think? Lily, grab your stuff, there's another store I want to go to before we leave. Cason, I'll see you later?"
"Yeah, actually there's this party tonight and I wanted to see if you wanted to go. Lily can come too." Cason said, winking at Lily.
"Cool, that sounds really fun. Where is it?"
"That's the catch...it's Zach's party." Noticing my cringe, Cason quickly continued. "It'll be at his house but we might not even see him, well at least you might not have to. You know how huge that place is. It'll be really fun, I swear. He throws the most legendary parties."
