Song: Hurricane by Bridget Mendler
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++(Alexis's point of view)
"Dad, Bella is no about to base her decision on how far she is going to be from home. This education will decide what her life is going to be like!" I yelled, my Cheeks burning up with anger. He has no right to influence my baby sisters decision! She has to spread her wings and be the beautiful, smart and innocent person I know she is. She has so many options in front of her eyes, and she needs to make this decision.
Dad looked shocked at my outburst, before flinching back and keeping an emotionless mask on his face.
"Um, oh ok then. I'll leave you too choose." Dad mumbled, clearly upset.
He got up and stalked off to his room, taking his plate and beer with him, while I sat there, feeling extremely guilty.
(Bella's Point Of View)
My body felt completely numb as I sat there, my hands folded into my lap.
How could she do this?
How could she upset Dad like this?A sudden burst of anger rushed through me, and I turned to my sister, who had a slice of pizza in hand.
"How could you do that? Do you have any idea how excited Dad was to see all the acceptance letters I got? I think that you have forgotten that you don't have a say in this either. I wanted our fathers input in this, and so help me god if you try to stop me." I exclaimed angrily, before stalking off to go see Dad.
As I trudged up the stairs, I couldn't
help but think about how Dad must be feeling. I know why Alexis had that outburst, but no one deserved it. The door to Dad's room was half open, and I could hear the tv running, probably baseball. I knocked on the door softly."Daddy?" I asked.
"Come on in Bella." Walking in there, I noticed that his eyes were red and his beer was almost finished. His pizza sat untouched on the plate, the toppings almost falling off the soft dough. Sitting down on his bed, I made him turn toward me."Daddy, you know that she didn't mean it, right? She was only mad because of what happened a few years ago. We all will get over it eventually."
He turned to me and gave me a sad smile."But when? She has finished her session with a therapist, and she's not done being angry. But I don't want to talk about it anymore. I want to focus on you. Which college do you think you will be going to?
"I think I want to go to Yale, Dad."
" They have an amazing literature program, honey. You're going to love it there! But promise me that you will visit on Christmas and during the summer?" Dad said.
"You don't have to tell me twice." I replied, reaching in to give dad a hug. I rested my head on his shoulder, only pulling back when I saw Alexis standing in the doorway. She had tears running down her face. "Can I come join you?" She asked, and I smiled, patting the space on the bed next to me. She sat down, only to say: "the pizza is getting cold." And I giggled. Dad chuckled and sighed, pulling back. He smiled at both of us. "Let's go eat."
He said, walking out of the room. Alexis and I smiled at each other, amd we wrapped an arm around each other
As we, too, walked out of dad's room.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Do you think it's really over?
