Bella's Point Of View

I stood there and blinked my eyes, then shook my head to clear my head of this recent and shocking exchange. Never once when I ever bumped into anyone did the conversation last this long!

Looking at the number in my hand, I grabbed my phone and put it in, so I don't forget. After that, I set out to look for my dad again, letting out a large smile as I gained sight of him.

"Dad!" I called out, causing him to look at me. Dad smiled, jogging his way toward me. To my living, he hadn't worn his chief of police suit and that meant that he probably didn't have the cruiser with him.  Dad gave me a hug, before scrutinizing my appearance, making sure I'd been taking care of myself while I was away.

"Hey bells," he said.

"Long time no see! I have about 5 memory cards full of photos and videos, an empty stomach and lots of souvenirs. Can we please go home?" I asked, and he laughed at my deleriousness.

" Sure Bells." He smiled, taking my cart of luggage with him. "You didn't do the cooking, right?" I asked, sincerely hoping he didn't. See, Charlie has a really bad track record for cooking, like breaking a toaster and a toaster oven in less than an hour. I was 11, and my mom had just left us, leaving Charlie to learn how to cook. Needless to say, we spent more money on takeout menus then we did on groceries.

I mean, I know how to cook, but Charlie didnt allow me to touch the kitchen until I was 16! (Over protective father much?) "Bella?" Dad asked, poking my cheek to get me out of my stupor. "What'cha thinking about?" He asked. "The time that you broke the toaster oven and the toaster in less than an hour." I replied, smirking at his obvious dismay. "You are never gonna let me live that down!" He sighed.

The car pulled into the driveway, and I couldn't help but sigh happily at the thought of coming home. "Now, Alexis doesn't know that im telling you this, but she is waiting inside with pizza and extra cheesy garlic breadsticks. I thought that I shouldn't give you a heart attack as your welcome home present," and I giggled.

" Thanks Dad."
