"I don't understand what you mean mummy" I said a look of confusion on my innocent face "well you see baby girl were wolves me,you, your father even your cousins and aunts and uncles there all wolves to but we're also humans which makes us werewolves" I was so surprised at that moment "that's so awesome so I can turn into a wolf" I asked astonished "yes hunny you can" , "wow that's so magical" my mum looked at me with a smile on her face "it is isn't it" she looked like she was pondering on whether to tell me something or not "but you know what the best part is" she asked placing me in her lap "what mummy" I asked "you see here baby girl every one who is like us have a friend a special friend Mother Nature put that friend on this earth just for you like she had for me","really who was it mummy do I know them" I asked "yes you do it was your father" as she said that I looked up at her and smiled "I always new you and daddy were best friends" I said all cheerful "yes baby we are, Mother Nature she put your father on this earth for me so that I could be happy and she put me on this earth so that your father would be happy to and then you came along making everything so much better","wow and I'm gonna have a friend like that" ,"yes yes you are and when you see this friend you'll know straight away that their your friend but these friends have specific names to them" , "they do" , "yes their called mates and when you find your mate you'll become the happiest wolf in the world","I can't wait to find my mate mummy" I said cuddling into her arms "yeah me to baby girl me to" and that's how we spent the after noon in each other's embrace watching the sunset and me wishing and dreaming that one day I'll meet my mate and they'll meet me making each of us the most happiest wolves in the world.

11 years later
"Daddy I can't find my bag" I yelled as I ran down stairs "it's down here hun" I ran into the kitchen to see my dad sitting at the table with my bag at his side "oh thank you" as I went to grab it he grabbed my hand and asked me to sit so I did as told "yeah dad what's wrong" I asked "nothing's wrong munchkin I just wanted to give you this" he handed me a small box with a ribbon around it "happy 16th birthday baby girl" he replied with a smile "thank you so much daddy you didn't have to get me anything" we hugged a while until he spoke "you know she would have been proud of you your so beautiful and smart and caring y/n she would be so happy for you remember that" I got out of  his embrace with a few tears as I remember my mum she died a few years ago when I was 12 by a rogue attack my dad was the one who took it the hardest well of course he was that's his mate.

I learned the grown up version about mates when I was 10 so I understood why he was in grief for such a long time he lost his other half, his one true love, his only love and ever since I saw him like that I've been afraid to find my mate I also learned that some wolves get rejected by there mates sometimes and that some die from heartbreak and some recover then they find their second chance mate for you see everyone has a second chance mate if your first one rejected you but I've also learned that some wolves after rejecting their mate go to them after a while and plead for forgiveness and acceptance because they realised what they done and that they actually love their mate some mates forgive some it takes time I just hope none of this happens with me that's why I'm so scared to finding my mate I don't want him to leave me the way mum left us or more like got taken from us and have to suffer the pain but yet I don't want to get rejected and suffer the worst heartbreak ever that may lead to my death it's just so much drama that I don't want.

"Thanks dad I know" and with that I left getting into my car and leaving to school once I got to school I got bombarded by my friends "happy birthday y/n" they shouted I smiled "thanks guys" I said giving each of them a hug I don't know why but today I feel more happy and uplifted I feel as if something good is gonna happen today.

Last period
It's now last period and I've been getting happy birthdays from everyone I guess you could say I'm one of those people that's friends with everyone anyway and now I'm doing sport since I'm a little sports freak I guess that comes along with being a wolf and everything especially a young one anyway so here I am shooting hoops since basketball is my side hoe I'm leaving my main for my mate as that's the respectable thing to do I've  always saved myself for my mate never had a boyfriend nor a crush i guess that's normal.....for some that is.

As I was shooting a three pointer waiting for our opponents I heard people whispering "dam I never realised how hot the boys basketball team is","yeah especially the other school" you see normally the boys would travel and the girls stay home or the girls travel while the boys stay home so we never actually see what they look like whilst in the play since we're never together except for today they decided that both genders for basketball and soccer will be held at my school whilst the others at the other school after I finished practicing a scent got to me it smelt like the guys joop perfume mixed with a rain forest scent it was louring me somewhere and messing with my head I don't understand why I couldn't smell it before I guess I was to into basketball to really think I started looking around trying to find the source of this smell until my eyes landed on a boy from the other school he was on the basketball team as well when we locked eyes something just seemed to click and it all made sense and before I knew  it I was walking towards him.

Alitos pov
I was shooting hoops before our game today they changed our schedule instead of having our separate games they had us join in with the girls I'm abut of a sports freak but hey that's not the only thing I'm a freak at being what I'm saying is that I'm a werewolf so I'm abut different to your normal 16 year old boy  anyways so here I am shooting some threes when I get a whiff of this magnificent scent it smelt like strawberries and chocolate with a hint of rain I had no idea where it was coming from until i turned and locked eyes with the most beautiful y/ec  eyes I felt my heart clench and my eyes darken and before I knew it I was moving towards her as she was to me I saw my mates look at me then at her and then smirk you see my whole team were a bunch of werewolves since we came from a town full of them so they knew what was happening and now there getting a good look at their new Luna and I could tell she was one to cause not only am I feeling this way but I can just sense it really I could feel the heat come off radiating around us as we got closer and I took in her appearance she was beautiful probably the most beautiful girl I've ever seen and she wasn't  to big nor to skinny not that that really matters because it doesn't and she had all the right curves in the right places she was gorgeous i got to thank Mother Nature for giving me such a beautiful.....

I saw him start to come to me, he was tall and very handsome I saw his team mates smirking as they saw him near me I can tell there all wolves I guess it's just instincts and I could feel all my team mates eyes on me and him.

As we got closer I could see his eyes darken as I knew mine were like that as well and I could feel the heat radiating from us were now at touching distance as he placed his hand on my cheek it felt nice the sensation sent sparks to erupt then he placed his other hand on the small of my back pulling my closer to him as I wrapped my arms around his neck we looked into each other's eyes as we both showed the same amount of love and lust as we spoke at the same time.
