Chapter 7

Aaliyah POV

I pulled away from the hug and dried my tears.

"May I come in?" She asked. I nodded and opened the door wider so she could come in.

"LiLi, who this?" Justin asked eyeing her suspiciously. I can honestly say my daddy got them trained well.

"This my mom." I said. They all stared at my mom.

"Who are they, Aaliyah?" My mom said looking all of them in the face. She wasn't scared neither. I mean she was married to my dad at some point.

"That's James holding the plate. That's Victor leaning against the wall. Over there is Justin texting on his phone. And this is DJ who is staring at me." I giggled and blushed.

"This must be your boyfriend?" She said pointing to DJ. Oh my gosh my mom knows how to cause tension in a room. The boys began laughing. DJ and I both blushed.

"No." I tried not to look awkward.

"Oh! That's too bad. He looks at you look he likes you." My mom said. When she said that, I knew it was time to take her into another room.

"Mom, want to check out the house?" I asked as the boys laughed.

"No, but I would like to know where's Ice." She began looking around.

"He went to New York for business." I said as if it was right down the street. My mom looked at me like I was crazy. I knew she was going to try to be a mom at this moment.

"You mean to tell me he left you all alone in Compton?" She yelled.

"Ma, I'm 16 I'm not 3." I had to remind her of the age she left me. She began looking sad.

"Sorry." I said.

"No I deserved that." She said shaking her head. She sat on the other couch across from Justin and DJ.

"I'm guessing you all are Ice's dope boys." My mom said crossing her long tanned legs. I had to be honest she was very pretty. She looked like a grown version of me.

"Yes, and I'm single and 22 baby." Justin said wrapping his arms around my mom.

"And I'm single and too old for you baby." She said squirming out of his grip. We all started laughing.

"Can you not feel on Ice old lady?" DJ laughed.

"Ice old lady?" My mom said turning her nose up.

"Yea, I know Ice ain't let a pretty thing like you go." Victor smirked.

"Wow! If y'all don't stop hitting on my mom!" I said getting angry.

"It's okay Aaliyah." My mom said giggling.

"Do dad know you here?" I asked.

"Well, I was hoping he was here so I could tell him the good news." My mom said.

"What good news?" I asked crossing my arms.

"I am moving back to Compton." She said excitedly. I felt a soar hit my throat. I was speechless. I'm glad to see her and all but who do she think she is to come back in our lives like she never left. She left my daddy high and dry. She was supposed to be that down chick that held her man down.

"What?" I managed to get out.

"Well, I got my things together and I'm ready for a family." She said. I just stared at her. She said that as if we were some toys that she wanted to play with again.

"So where you staying?" I asked her.

"I was hoping Ice would let me stay here." She said looking around admiring everything.

"You can't stay here." I said shaking my head.

"Come on Aaliyah, ease up on her. She is your mom." DJ said. I looked at him then back to my mom. I whipped out my phone and called my dad. I put him on speaker.

"Hello?" He sounded like he was asleep.

"Dad, I got you on speaker. Guess who's here?" I said.

"Who?" He asked.

"Ma." I said looking towards my mom. It was a long silence over the phone.

"Aaron?" He finally said.

"Yea dad and she is moving back to Compton. She want to stay here with us." I said. There was another long pause.

"Oh come on Ice. You won't turn your sweetheart around will you?" My mom said so sweetly.

"Aaron is that you?" My dad said sounding excited.

"Ice a punk." Justin mumbled causing the others to laugh.

"Heck yea." Victor laughed.

"It's me baby! Live and in the flesh." My mom said. I heard my dad chuckle.

"Aaron call me." He said.

"Okay, honey." My mom ran into the kitchen to talk to him.

"Be nice, Aaliyah." My dad said right before hanging up. The guys all stared at me.

"So since your mom is moving in, you won't be needing us." Victor said sadly.

"I won't have nobody to mess with." Justin said looking down.

"I won't have no food to eat." James said pouting.

"And I won't have a beautiful girl to wake up to every morning." DJ said looking up at me.

"We gone still stay together. Even when Ice get back I'm still gone fool with y'all tough." I said opening my arms for a group hug. We all hugged until we heard someone clear their throat. We looked up to see my mom with a wide smile.

"Ice said I can stay." She said excitedly. Shit!
