"Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us."
Pride and Prejudice

*Next Morning*
I was woken up to my phone blaring Jill Scott's "A long walk". I was obsessed with Oldies music or music from the early 2000's. I occasionally listened to to some new music but I wasn't what they would call 'hip'.

I pressed the alarm off button on my phone and sat up I looked over at the edge of my bed and saw a sleeping Roscoe. After a long night we both decided that would be his name. I could've sworn I made him sleep on the floor though.

"Aye Ro....buddy get up." I tapped him but he stayed I guess he was just as tired as me at the moment.

I checked the time seeing it was 12:48pm.
Damnit!!! I've never slept this long. Porcha would probably be over any minute to help me with the damn dinner. I almost forgot.

"Ughhh." I sighed with I frustration.

I went downstairs to sit out breakfast but to my surprise the kitchen was a mess. Cereal and silverware was everywhere. I was pissed so bad at the moment. Then I thought...Roscoe😠😤he probably got out of the room while I was sleep.

"Rocoeee!!!!!"
He finally came downstairs slowly with the cutest innocent face. He knew what he did.  But, I wasn't going to let him off the hook. He walked over toe scared to death my face was boiling hot.

"Look buddy I got some rules wen you stay here and jacking up my damn kitchen is a no-no." I pointed In his face to make sure he was paying attention.

Roscoe then started whining trying to make me feel bad. This dog was smart trying to use his adorableness against me but it wasn't gonna work.

"Look Ro as much as I'm mad at you right now. I can't be you probably never experienced living in a house. But we love together now so you can't mess up the house Ard boy."

He barked twice  and that was enough assurance for me.

"Ok then."
I grabbed a trash can and started cleaning up. I guess this is what having a dog would be like. I had always wanted a dog so this was gonna be funny to me in a few years.
Event added to my Sparkline.☺️
I loved adding new events to my Sparkline it helped me keep a mental memory of my life. Like when I read my poem last night. Even those little things make it all count. Getting a dog was one I didn't want to forget.

Flashback
I was a 7 year old curly haired girl sitting in the park drawing while my mother sat on the bench reading. I enjoyed peaceful moments like those. Nearby I saw a little boy playing with a German Shepard.

I watched how the 2 bonded graciously. My mother was too caught up in her reading to even notice the dog.

"Mommy can we get a dog."

She looked up and realized what I said.
"Girl we don't need a do--."
Right before she could finished she saw the dog and instantly saw the dog. You could tell she was scared outta her mind.
