Nalani
Porcha and I were currently back at my house trying on the dresses we bought. The fitting rooms at the store were too crowded so we bought the dresses and went home if we didn't like one I would just take it back tomorrow.

I really liked this black dress that we got. Porcha agreed with me hesitantly only because she wanted a dress that showed more skin. We spent over a hour arguing about her putting some purple lipstick on me. I only liked basic colors but once I put it on I really liked it. Makeup wasn't really a big deal for me I usually only applied Mascara or foundation anyways.

It was almost time to go since it was 7:23. After Porcha dropped me of she was going to come back to my place and watch Roscoe while I was gone. I trusted him a little more after my trip to the store but I was taking precautions. I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my phone checking the address Chandra sent me once more.

"You ready Lani."

"Yep I'm good."

We walked out getting in the car and I plugged the AUX cord in but Porcha stopped me.

"I ain't listening to the show shit...but because it's late I'll Let it slide church girl."

"I ain't a church girl."

"Yes you are when ya cursed out Fulton that was the 1st time I've seen you go off like that."

We started laughing and continued talking all the way singing oldies music.

After about 25 minutes we pulled up to a cozy little brownstone house with a pot of sunflowers out front. The girls would tell me how they planted flowers last summer I wonder how they were still surviving. The cold season was coming in. My mom would've simply answered 'The power of God.' She was a woman of belief so I always grew up believing that there was a someone bigger than all of us.

Flashback:
I was in 4th grade and it was Bring your Dad to work. Everyone In the class bought there dads making me the biggest fool at lunch time.

"Why your dad ain't come Lani." This girl named Harley asked she was the biggest brat of the class. Just cause her daddy was rich.

"Ion know my dad."

Everyone roared in laughter as I left my lunch and ran to the bathroom crying. I stayed in there until the end of school and my mom came to get me.

"Mom where's my dad."
She gulped and was silent before answering.

"He's very far away up might meet him one day. I'm sorry about today I know it was that Dad's thing but it's ard Baby girl I gotchu."

"They made fun of me Mom. Now I'm the biggest joke. WHEN am I gonna meet him."

"That's in Gods hands if he wants you 2 to meet path. All you can do is pray Lani. Just know I love you Lani don't worry about those rotten head ass kids. They ain't got shit better else to do. Baby your beautiful inside out don't let them tell you different otherwise....ok."

I realized I was crying and wiped them away before hugging my mom as we began walking again.

"Ok."
