After Fred died, the Marauders gave him a medal for being a brilliant prankster and being a hero. Gryffindors would remember him as 'Fred Weasley, the other half of the Weasley Twins, a prankster, and a hero' and Fred2 would be proud even if he never met his Uncle Fred. George kept Fred's Christmas sweater and wore it on Christmas Eve, and that same sweater would be passed on to Fred2.
