I rose quickly from Vasilisa's bedside, and stormed over to her door, pulling it open quickly, and let it slam into the wall. While I was sprinting down the hall, Vasilisa's maids rushed out in front of me and held up their hands, signaling for me to stop.

The maid in purple quickly said, "Your majesty, you cannot hurt Sir Damon."

"Why not?!" I yelled, and the maid flinched.

Then the maid wearing blue spoke up.

"Your Majesty, Sir Damon doesn't know the cure either, because he doesn't know the true story of Sleeping Beauty."

What? The Sleeping Beauty story that I've always known is fake?

"How do you know that?" I muttered.

"Well, Your Majesty, we were the ones who wrote the story." The maid in pink replied.

"How? That story has been around for thousands of years! You are mortal, so you can't possibly-"

"That's where you're wrong, Your Majesty. You see we are not mortals, we are in fact, fairies." The maid in purple said proudly, and all at once, they transformed into ladies wearing sleek dresses with wands and small wings.

"I'm Genevieve." The fairy in blue said.

"Elizabeth, pleased to meet you." The fairy in pink said, nodding her head.

"The name's Blair." The fairy in purple finished, twirling her wand around in her fingers.

Now, that explains it. Fairies can live thousands of years, unless they are somehow killed.

"You see, King Malcolm, long before your time, before the vampires' rule, there was once a time where werewolves, vampires, and humans all got along with each other. It would have been your great-great-great-great-great grandfather, King Jeremiah. He was the first lycan to ever walk the Earth. Well, he had two sons, Jackson and Alistair. Alistair is the one that is involved with you.

There was a human kingdom, not too far from your grandfather's, that didn't have any more male heirs. The kingdom was called Lockhaven, and the King and Queen of Lockhaven had a daughter, Princess Rosalie. Rosalie was a very spirited girl, very brave, beautiful, but stubborn as well. She had met Alistair in the woods, by a lake, and they felt an attraction between one another and fell in love. They would meet each other in the woods at midnight very night, and they didn't know that they were both royals.

Rosalie returned home one night, and the next morning, her parents asked to speak with her in the throne room. Her parents introduced her to another prince, Prince Alexander of Cecis, a vampire prince. As Rosalie's parents told her that she was bethothed to Alexander, she broke down in tears, for she loved another, Alistair. Rosalie ran to her chambers, and sobbed for hours, until Alexander came to her. Alexander tried to calm her, but it was no use. Rosalie started screaming at Alexander for coming into her life, when he did something unexpected. Alexander had grown furious, and he started to choke her, despite her pleads for him to stop. When Alexander realized what he was doing, he let go instantly, but it was no use. Rosalie looked up at him for a little while, and a single tear flowed down her cheek. Rosalie whispered, "Find Alistair.", and then, she fell into a coma. Alexander heard those words, and tried to awake her, but nothing worked. He left in a panic, and Rosalie's parents weeped, for their only child, was in a deep sleep, unable to be awoken.

That night, Alistair went to the woods to meet Rosalie, and couldn't find her. He headed back to his castle, heartbroken, and stayed within his castle for weeks. Rosalie's parents sent out pleads for help to the neighboring kingdoms, begging for someone with the name Alistair to come forward.

By the time the message had reached Alistair's kingdom, it had been over three months, and the kingdom of Lockhaven had lost hope. When Alistair heard that Rosalie was in a deep sleep, he left the castle, heading straight for Lockhaven.

When he finally got to Lockhaven, he was in shock. Not one person was cheerful, they all wore gloomy expressions, and as he walked past, they looked up and happiness glowed brightly in their eyes. Alistair walked into the palace, and the King and Queen were sitting on their thrones, and the Queen was sobbing. When the announcer announced his name, the King and Queen stopped what they were doing, and turned toward him in shock.

"I am Prince Alistair of Stone Crest, and I was told that my Rosalie was here. Am I correct?" He said.

The King and Queen's eyes widened, and the Queen got up from her throne, and ran to Alistair, crying of happiness.

"Finally, you're here." She sobbed.

The King smiled, and leaded Alistair to Rosalie's chambers. He let him in, then shut the door, heading back to the throne room.

Alistair turned toward the bed, and laying there before his eyes, laid Rosalie, dressed in a silk purple dress. Alistair knew what he had to do. Since he was a lycan, waking someone with a kiss wouldn't do anything, he would have to wake her with his mark. So, after he rallied up his courage to wake Rosalie, he pierced her skin with his bite, and light shined around her. When the light disappeared, Rosalie opened her eyes, and beamed a bright smile up at him. They then got married, and Prince Alexander raged war on both Lockhaven and Stone Crest, starting the rivalry between vampires and werewolves.

Alistair's parents were both slaughtered, along with Rosalie's parents, and then Rosalie was killed, sending Alistair into darkness. He forgot all about his brother, and tortured Alexander to his death. After Alistair saw what he had done, he hanged himself. Jackson lived through it all, and found his mate during the war, and continued the lycan generation. Everyone forgot about Alistair and Rosalie, so we wrote a book based on their love story, one that was less bloody and had a happy ending." Genevieve finished.

"Since it has happened before, the only way you can wake Vasilisa from her deathly state, is by leaving your mark to mark her as yours." Elizabeth stated.

"Go. Wake her." Blair commanded, and waved me away.

After a month, I shall finally be able to see my mate's eyes once more.

I ran back to her chambers, and kneeled down by her side.

Please, let her wake up now, or I will die of sorrow.
