A blonde girl walked up to me, as she got closer I realized how ugly she was. I'm sorry, if that sounded mean but her face was caked with makeup- wait was she orange?
"Who the hell are you?" She asked in a high pitched annoying voice.
"Uh I-I'm G-" before I could finish my stuttered sentence, she interrupted me.
"Maybe you're lost because this-" she started, signalling the picnic tables behind her, "-is where the popular kids sit".
"Shut the hell up Raya" Luke said, giving her a glare, "Gray is my friend".
I felt like crying because everyone now had their eyes on me. Looks like me making a good impression, is now out of question. This whole situation only made my anxiety levels rise, I didn't like the attention on me. Everyone must think I'm mean or horrible. Why did I agree to come?
"Listen you dumb bitch," I looked over at Erika in awe. She always stood up for me, sometimes I loved her for it, other times I didn't. I know that she's just trying to help but everyone now had their eyes locked on us.
"Pardon me?" Squeaked Raya.
Why would her parents name her Raya? She was no ray of sunshine.
"You heard me, leave my bestfriend alone or else I might have to slap all that makeup off of your face" Erika said, now fuming, hatred filled her eyes.
I looked up at Luke, his jaw was hanging open and he looked surprised. I guess no one had stood up to Raya before?
"Luke?" I whispered up at him, getting is attention. "Can you please stop this?"
He nodded in response, clearly not wanting anything bad to happen either. Luke dropped his arm from my shoulder and stepped in between the two girls, facing Raya.
"Sit down Raya" he said in a stern voice.
Raya rolled her eyes and winked at him before turning around swaying her hips excessively, it looked like she dislocated a hip, she was trying so hard.
Luke guided us to a table where his friends sat.
The only people I recognized were Michael, and his girlfriend Rani.I sat in between Luke and Erika, thankful that I didn't end up next to someone I didn't know.
I looked around the table, Michael sat in between Rani and a strawberry blonde, next to her was an Asian looking guy holding hands with a red head. At the table that they'd attached, sat, a girl with red streaks in her hair, a girl with pink hair, a boy with brown hair and a few cheerleaders.
I looked down at my lap as I fiddled with my fingers nervously, out of habit I snapped the hair elastic on my wrist repeatedly.
"So, these are my new friends Gray and Erika" Luke introduced, breaking the silence.
"I'm Rani" the beautiful brunette smiled, "anyway I better go check on Raya her ego might be hurt" she said the last part sarcastically with a chuckle. She kissed Michael on the cheek and left the table.
"Hey, well I'm Shelby, and this is my boyfriend Calum" the red head said giggling as she looked at her boyfriend with love.
"Ew stop" we heard a male voice say from further down the table.
"Oh and that's my brother Ashton" Shelby said rolling her eyes playfully at her brother.
After being introduced to everyone I felt slightly less nervous but I still hadn't spoken a word.
I learnt that Shelby and Calum have been dating since freshman year (which I find adorable), Hannah is the strawberry blonde who happens to be Michael's younger sister, Cheyanne is Michael and Hannah's cousin, and Tiara has been friends with Michael since they were seven.
