addisons POV
She stood at a window staring blankly out at the world that she has learned to except as her own. The morning fog gathered on the side walk and swayed gracefully through the trees leaving a trail of beauty with every step. It was as if nature was painting a portrait for the heavens. As she gazed out over the trees she let out a slight sigh. She turned away from the window and glanced at a picture on the dresser that sat in the corner of her room. The frame was very old and had began to gather dust. She walked to the dresser, gently pressing her finger tips to the picture. "I miss you mom." She muttered as she extended her hands towards the old frame. "Addison, you're going to be late again come on." A soft voice interrupted her thoughts and she placed the frame back on the dresser slinging her book bag over her shoulders, and rushing out of her room, down the stairs."
She made her way to the kitchen where her foster mom Dannie stood at the counter, sipping a cup of coffee. "About time, you're going to be late again" Addison hugged her mom and rushed out the door meeting her best friend Jadyn at the end of the drive way. "How goes it Addie?" he greeted her the same way every morning, and the response almost never changed. "Good." She replied beginning to walk towards the school. He struck up small talk on occasion but the walk to school was usually silent. Addison wasn't much for talking, she kept to herself most of the time. Jadyn was the only person she had actually opened up to, they had only been friends for a short while now but they have grown to trust each other.
As they approached the front door of the school they hugged and went their separate ways for 1st period. Addisons first period was advanced English, her favorite class. She took her usual seat at the back of the class and waited quietly for the teacher to begin. Addison had no friends other than Jadyn but she was okay with that. throughout the entire day her mom never left her mind. Addison thought about her smile and the way she'd tell the monsters to go away when she was younger. At 3:00 the last bell of the day rang interrupting her thoughts and dismissing her. As she approached her locker she saw Jadyn waiting in his normal spot. She slung her chemistry book into her locker and walked towards him.
