I got out the car and walked up to the front doors. I still couldn't believe I had given Bella my number. It was a way for her to be with me, without being at the dinner. There was no where else we could be, she was so busy at the weekends she never had time to get out of school. But I had finally done it. I had given her the paper, I had walked away and there was nothing I could do now. I just had to wait. I didn't know if she was going to text me, or call me, if she was going to do so right now, or in a week. I just had to wait for her to be ready.
I walked back to my room, checking in at the office on the way and just as I opened my door. *BUZZ BUZZ* My phone went off. I scrambled about in my pockets until I found it, calming myself down before reading the text. I had only expected it to say hi but the nerves had me thinking it would say more. I looked at the number, and true enough, it was a number I did not recognise. I opened the message and what I saw was more than just hi, it was a whole sentence. But it did not contain the information I was looking for.
"Hi, it's Jacob I got a new phone and this is my new number. By the way, what's for dinner? I'm starved."
Of course it wasn't Bella, she wasn't that eager to talk to me, I was just some guy she hung out with at lunch. I felt like I could just smash my phone off the ground and stomp all over it. I got so worked up, so excited because I thought she was going to text me straight away, like I was royalty. What was I thinking?
I studied for around an hour before slumping into the kitchen to make dinner. Jacob was a great guy, but if there's one thing he cannot do, it's cook. Last time Jacob was in a kitchen he almost burned a hole in the ceiling. Luckily he didn't but he did leave a black ring on the ceiling as a reminder of what he did.
Within half an hour I had rustled up some form of spaghetti dish. Just as I was plating up, Jacob came stumbling through the door. He fell flat on his face and groaned, evidentially smashed out his face. He often came home drunk, but always at a reasonable time, because he had been drinking since noon.
I helped him to his bed and sat the plate of food on his desk. I stripped him down to his underwear and gave his the plate. It felt like a routine thing to do now. I quietly left the room and sat down on the couch. Today. Today was going to change everything between Bella and I. It could go amazingly, or horribly.
I was so nervous, she could throw away the paper and never come back...forget all about me. Or she could save the number and contact me, either tonight tomorrow or any other day. I hoped it would be soon.

sorry it's so short i know but i felt like this was a good ending for this chapter. I kinda got writer's block for a while so it's been kinda hard to update, but I'm gonna try my best to get it back up and regular! :)
