The end

It was 6pm when Maya left the room to see Riley and Farkle talking. She walked to them.
"Hey guys."
"Hey. He's really upset, just so you know."
"I don't want to be mad at him. I just am."
"Mr.Matthews is playing a movie on the screen in his room if you want to watch it." Said Farkle.
"What movie?"
"Finding nemo."
"See, being stuck at school isn't that bad." Said Riley. Maya raised an eyebrow at her.
"Lets go."

A little while through the movie, Maya got up and left. She went to the window on the second floor in the hallway and looked out. First she looked for what she could see in the dark but then her focus turned to herself. She looked into her own eyes. She made no sense. Her blue eyes held secrets and mysteries that she wanted to know about herself. What did she feel? Why did she feel it? She looked away and back at the snow.
"It looks like we're stuck here for the night." She turned around to see Lucas. She turned back.
"Ya."
"It's supposed to stop snowing at eleven."
"That's good to know."
"Well, you don't sound quite as mad." Maya just looked out the window. "Remember the yearbook. We're like fire, Maya."
"And fire burns out."
"You've thought about this."
"I have."
"And you think that we burned out?"
"You care about Riley. I can see it in your eyes. The disappointment when she said that she didn't like you in that way."
"Maya, I-I."
"You?"
"I don't know. I was just an idiot. I just let her kiss me. I can't let this go Maya. I'm sorry and I should have told you guys that I was confused."
"That would have helped but I forgive you."
"That's all it took?"
"Ya."
"I like you, Maya. I really do. More than I liked Riley."
"No. Forgiveness doesn't mean that I still want to be a second cho-"
Her leaned in and kissed her. His hands on her waist and not the slightest hesitation. They stood by the window in the hallway, hearing the faint noises of the movie playing in the classroom, holding each other, forgetting about every moment that didn't involve each other.
